It was an embarrassing day from start to finish for the Yankees as they were pounded by the Blue Jays.

Carl Pavano was named the starter for Saturday. This notebook also has an update on Joba Chamberlain’s progress.

I can’t believe Minnesota won AGAIN and in Anaheim, no less.

Can anyone look at the Twin and conclude they’re more talented than the Yankees?

How the heck are they doing it then?

Maybe if Hughes and Joba can return before the end of the season and pitch, as they have, at their best, the Yankees can go on one last run.

Failing to qualify for the playoffs is exasperating enough but not even challenging is more than I can bear to accept just yet.

“Man looks into the abyss and find character. And character, finally, is what keep him out of it.”

Let’s hope this team has one last reservoir of resilence and tenacity they can summon.

Come on Yankees, Rage Rage Rage against the Dying of the Light.

“Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night…

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night…

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.”

“Man looks into the abyss and find character. And character, finally, is what keep him out of it.”

Nice quote from “Wall Street”, right after Charlie Sheen’s character (Bud Fox) is arrested. So who is the Yankees’ Bud Fox????

  6. GreenBeret7

    Poem by Dylan Thomas…Welsh poet…1951

  7. Jeter No.2

  8. oof

Girardi said that they have to play better if they want to play in October. October?! C’mon– they have to play better if they want to have fans in September…..
