cashman and girardi need to go, its too bad they didn't get sweet lou ,he would have been great for this team. Arod is the best player I have seen in many years but when the money is on the line he chokes,he is not a clutch player never has been ,as a yankees fan for over 35 years I wish they could get rid of him and go after manny he may be crazy but the son of a bitch can hit when the game is on the line. Go after CC for one thing if he is in pin stripes and wong is healthy as well as Joba that will be 3 in your face lights out pitchers, if they can land one more than they will be in the mix at playoff time for years. As far as hitting goes change batting order to get alex out of the pressure hit him 3rd of 5th. Get rid of cano and giambi, keep matsui and damon, .goerge

I'm beginning to wonder about Joe's sanity....

As a Yankee fan just like you it has been painfully obvious that this team just isn't good enough to make the playoffs. People say "if Torre were here"...TORRE IS NOT HERE! Whether you like it or not Girardi is our manager and we must deal with that. This team through all of the injuries and more injuries has been expected to be able to make the playoffs and that just isn't reality. Look at our pitching staff..Ponson, Rasner and now Pavano. It's ridiculous for us to think they will make the playoffs with 3 of our pitchers who basically suck. I have for weeks now accepted the fact that after 13 seasons we have no playoffs coming. With that being said, it's my hope that the "higher ups" do this organization right this off season b/c the whole IPK and Hughes thing was a PURE DISASTER!!

Remember in the Sopranos, when the aging head of the New York crime family dies, and his dimwitted son tries to take the reins? The one who thinks he's a player, thinks he's going to be a Hollywood producer, thinks he's got what his old man had... Thinks he's smart, but is really quite dim?

Girardi reminds me of that guy.

Thinks he's sharp, but everyone around him is rolling their eyes when he's not looking.

you gotta have faith

Mekly was so-so. 1-4 with a RBI and a walk, but still looked lost at the plate at times.

One thing i forgot to mention before was how great Hughes curveball was. He struck out six batters with his curve. I've never seen it look that sharp.
