New York beat writers fall to Boston

I’ll spare you the gory details. But the New York beat writers blew a 7-1 lead and lost 9-7 to the Boston beat writers this morning at the Stadium.

We’re a total disgrace. But at least nobody scored from second on an infield hit.

It was fun for everybody to play on the field one more time. Just playing catch on that grass is a blast. We have a rematch in September at Fenway Park.

The best part was seeing our pal Bob Klapisch of The Record, who threw out the first pitch. Klap, as many of you know, is a real baseball player and suffered a serious eye injury while pitching earlier this summer. He’s recovering well, thankfully.

Check back later for the lineups of the real game.
