However, I've gotten to the point where I don't expect a big hit in a big situation this year. While his personal numbers are in-line with his career, there is something to be said about his performance in pressure situations. He's admitted as such, that he's been pressing and trying to do too much. I really wish he could just relax and let the ball come to him, instead of jumping at pitches. Yes, there are 9 hitters in the line up, and yes, they've all done their fair share of failing this season so there's plenty of blame to go around. It just seems like he's the one that has come up in more big spots (yesterday's game in particular) and not come through. Career number between Jeets and ARod are misleading. I think a better comparison would be to show their post-season numbers while with the Yankees. As for Jon's post re: last year's numbers, they both failed to come through last year, so that's not much of a point. Jeter has come through in big spots in the playoffs, so he garners that rep.
