Robinson Cano threw away a game the Yankees had to win.

Joba Chamberlain took a big step forward. This notebook also has updates on Carl Pavano, A-Rod, Pudge Rodriguez and Derek Jeter

The Sunday Baseball Beat focuses on what the future could hold for Derek Jeter.

The Mets actually suffered a worse fate than the Yankees, the dreaded walk-off walk. Josh Thomson was in Miami.

As much as It kills to watch it hurts too much to not see anything at all. My favorite team. Go yankees!

“He is 24 of 100 this month with 15 RBI, 30 strikeouts and has grounded into 12 double plays.”

Disappointing month for sure. I thought A-Rod had 11 DPs this month? Did he hit into another one last night after the game or are you planning ahead for him to hit into another one today?

It really is amazing. 15 on the year and 11 in one month. I wouldn’t have thought that was even possible to do if you were trying to do it let alone not trying to do it.

These are un-A-rod like numbers. He is certainly capable of hitting 17 homers vthis month and puuting up some monster numbers. Come on September!

Cano must go.Arod too.Just sit his ass down for a couple of games,or lower him in the batting order, and watch how fast he,and Boras engineer a move out of town.

    From NYT:

Gov. Sarah Palin abused the powers of her office by pressuring subordinates to get her former brother-in-law, a state trooper, fired, a investigation by the Alaska Legislature has concluded.
