In today's game, it was the final appearance for Giambi in a Yankee uniform in his farewell tour.
Next stop, Anaheim.

When is the most overrated player in baseball history the greatest stat collector in all of sports history going to admit that this divorce of his is killing him?

and when is management going to realize their mistake in signing up not a baseball player but an entrepreneur with over a half dozen business interests with baseball being the least of his concerns?

"Tell your friend if the Red Sox ever produce a rookie pitcher that does what Joba does in his rookie year, you’ll give him his $50 back"

Chamberlain: 12 starts, 4-3, BAA 2.36, 2.67/1.29
Masterson: 9 starts, 5-4, BAA 2.16, 3.20/1.23

As relievers:
Chamberlain: ERA 2.45
Masterson: ERA 2.19

Most importantly though, there are no "Masterson rules". His arm is such that he doesn't need to be babied.

Tell your friend he isn't getting that $50 back.

ariel, I'm not going to argue of the nickname. Allen tagged him with a nickname, but, there is no indication or any record I've seen that would make Henrich any more of an "Old reliable" than Keller, just because Allen hung that name on his close friend. If you look at career numbers that ran virtually at the same time, except for the fact that Keller had close to 1,000 at bats less than Henrich. Just because Henrich got the name in a year that Keller missed a large portion because of a degenerative disc in his back does not make Henrich more clutch. I can post numbers by Keller in other years that Henrich was hurt, too. Keller also lost two prime years to the war that Henrich didn't. In the end, they were virtually the same hitter. Henrich was probably the better defensive outfielder, although, those numbers were also close.

as far as abreu, short of replacing his bat at 7 years and 20 mil per for Teixiera, who's going to replace him? Dunn? There's none any better or cheaper than Abreu, and none that does wat he does. Other than the perceived "wall phobia", what are these on field foibles you claim he has? Again, name a better bat for right field?

I'm hoping that they'll reconsider how to handle Joba next year and start him in the rotation.

mel, Hideki has a blushing young bride, he needs steady work.
