I don't know what the story is, but I have noticed that songs that are on the video game Rock Band, which Gimme Shelter is, have been requested on classic rock and showing up often. I wouldn't be surprised if that is where he heard the song.

MAN! Gardner, Damon, and Jeter get on base 7 times and the Yankees can only get 2 runs. The "heart" of the order really stunk it up tonight.

Ramirez gets a lot of credit for teaching himself that changeup, and seems like a nice young guy, but, he can't control the fastball and it's not that good, so, it really leaves him very little to change up off of. He, along with Geise, Rasner and probably Kennedy are better suited to the big NL parks and the NL West in particular. Maybe package them with Igawa and Cabrera to a team like San Diego. Perhaps for a Kevin Kouzmanoff.

"Ryan Howard = NL MVP, he’s done it all season"

Did you see the Phillies first 81 games of the year, where Howard batted .214/.309/.454 in 350 trips to the plate?

That is half the season where he was crap. There is no way this guy should be the MVP. The first 81 games are just as important as the last 81 games. Same thing applies for Delgado.

The NL MVP discussion is a joke because there is such an obvious player who is in a class of his own - Albert Pujols. He is insanely better than any other NL hitter this year, and it's not remotely close. He's batting .365/.465/.650 in 592 trips to the plate. Do you realize how extremely awesome thst is? He is having one of the greatest offensive seasons in recent memory. He is hitting .365. He gets on base 46.5% of the time. He is slugging at a rate that is only .040 lower than Babe Ruth's career Slugging Percentage. And he is doing it with an injured elbow. Yet he gets no love because the 24 guys around him are nothing special. That is so unfair. He is a slam-dunk no-brainer for Nl MVP. Let's see if the writers are dumb enough to screw this up. They just might be.

1)Mariano Rivera-closer
2)Mark Melancon- set-up guy
3)Humberto Sanchez- 7th inning guy
4)Phil Coke- Lefty reliever
5)Alfredo Aceves- spot starter/long man
6)Brian Bruney- 6th/7th inning guy
7)Edwar Ramirez- situational righty/keeping him because of his great change-up.
