Pete -- Here's another one. The top three places in the Yankee hit list are occupied by numbers 2, 3, and 4! Cheers. Paul.

I don't get the "eerieness". Both Gehrig and Jeter have 8001 ABs but Gehrig has 2721 hits and Jeter only 2530. Its not like they have the same number of ABs at Yankee Stadium.
Whatever.

So tell me Trisha. I know it is not likely to happen but if on November 1, 2008 the Sox signed CC Sabathia you would not find that significant or interesting???

Wow. Looking at Gehrig there, I never thought Jeter kinda looks like him. Maybe Gehrig came back as Jeter to resume a highly similar career at the back end of the century....and to get a lotta poontang

And the lead-in to this had to do with the iron horse and DJ. I would have loved to see the first post and those following be responsive to Pete's lead-in and not some news about the Sux.

Just my opinion.

I too have to admit (surprise surprise) that I find nothing significant or interesting about who the Sux sign. It is hardly a big surprise that Epstein got re-signed. And in terms of "what happens to Cashman in the off season" it's old news that the Steinbrenners want him back. I guess people can replay their thoughts on what Cashman will do, though that is already been hashed and rehashed. I'm with Neil.

They should give Jete the rest of the year off. Leave the Stadium tied with Lou in hits and at bats.

Neil,
I would just echo what some other people have already said. The Yankees/Sox rivalry is considered the biggest in all of sports.

What one team does in terms of management and players directly influences what the other team does!
