What is with this guy Daniel Cabrera? This year he hit Jeter twice on the same hand, taking him out the game twice and making him miss games, and he hits A-Rod as well! Can’t we do something about that? Is he going to take out the entire Yankee lineup next season?

I would love to get a hold of Jeter’s X-rays and give them to an independent radiologist and have them tell me exactly how many times he’s broken bones in his hand, and how recently. I bet they can discern all that. And I bet he’s played with fractures.

Even if Jeter breaks every bone in his body today, he’ll still be the starting shortstop. He’d say “he’s fine” anyway.

you think Giambi can play 3rd? He’s been the first baseman for most of the year. Teixeira would be the best solution, but Nady, Abreu or even Jorge would be upgrades.

Steve Somers on WFAN was his typical asinine self earlier. In mock sympathy, he said words to the effect that it would be a shame that Jeter would be denied playing the final game at Yankee Stadium tomorrow night. It didn’t help that at the time he made those comments, a fellow Mets fan called in wished him a “Happy Elimination Day.” The caller seemed hopeful that today’s, if not tomorrow’s, game was the one that put the Yankees out of the playoffs for good.

Jeter could lose the hand and still be standing there at SS tomorrow night. If he doesn’t play another game this season, he plays SS tomorrow night and no one can say otherwise.

Yeah, when you get old we just move you to first, you don’t have to do anything there but look good. Nothing to learn, I mean just play pitch and catch. Man it just is not that easy. If abreu can play first he can play third. Think he can play third. You got to have the same type skills, plus a couple that are different.

If Abreu is open to playing first that wouldn’t be such a bad idea. I only chose Nady because he has played there before.
