As much as there is a liberal media bias there is a Red Sox bias. Look at this quote in ESPN "New York scored in every inning but the sixth, the most runs it has scored this season and the most allowed by Boston since losing 19-8 to the Yankees in Game 3 of the 2004 AL championship series. The Red Sox won the next four games to come back from a 3-0 deficit, then swept St. Louis in the World Series to end their 86-year championship drought."

I'm confused about your 100 RBIs for 6 straight seasons stat...even assuming you're talking about active players, a quick (incomplete) search yielded the following active players who have hit 100 RBIs for 6 straight seasons...

Jim Thome, Carlos Delgado, Jason Giambi, Frank Thomas, Manny Ramirez

Perhaps what you were trying to say is that Abreu is one of only three active players to hit 100 RBIs in the last six seasons?

"Thats 100 RBI for Bobby Abreu. He has reached that plateau for six straight seasons, joining only A-Rod and Albert Pujols on that list."

Peter, I assume you meant to say current players, correct?

UnKnown September 27th, 2008 at 1:10 am

Why did Robertson get the win tonight and not Phil Coke?

When the pitcher of record gets taken out before 5 innings, the official scorer determines by his judgment who the winner is because there is no pitcher of record anymore. John Sterling mentioned this on the radio sometime two weeks ago.

Robertson likely got the W because he had 3 K, 0 R over 2IP. Usually, the relief pitcher that gives up the least runs and/or hits gets the nod.

Former Assistant General Manager for the Yanks, Kim Ng is being considered for the GM spot in Seattle. Hope she gets it.

Mel, Mussina said today on Francessa that one of the few places he would play is with the Yanks if they want him. He's like Pettitte...he's going home and think about it for a week or so. He was saying that it will most likely take a 3 year committment to reach 300 at his age, because 15 a year for two years would be tough, but, I got the impression that he would pitch if the Yanks wants him back. I'm guessing both he and Pettitte will return. Pettitte had an MRI today and it came back clean. No damage in the elbow and shoulder.

Here's a fun fact but complete non sequitir: The last time the Yankees beat the Sox by a score of 19-8 was game 3 of the 2004 ALCS.

Completely meaningless, but I found it kinda funny--in a twisted, depressing way.

Yeah, I did, Mel. It was Proctor that gave up Molina's homer.

The topper is that the game is being played under protest by SF and LA is now leading 5-4.
