I was hoping Hughes would get into the game. Give him a chance to get a win. But oh well.

that was the aftermath of the disastrous Lilly-Weaver trade. Weaver begat Brown.

Lilly sucked for so many yrs. after that deal, he never turned into anything until Pinella got him in the NL.

Ray, did NESN or wakefield say anything about why he asked for the game ball after the 5th inning?

"It was a petulant self-indulgent act, that hurt the team."

yes. what a jerk Brown was. makes him the worst Yankee ever in my eyes, even exceeding Tony Womack in his overall Yankee badness.

Cashman isin’t coming back here… too much stress.

I didn't read the NY Post today.

Seattle is a very attractive job. A rotation of Hernandez-Morrow-Bedard-Rowlandson Smith along with the #1 overall pick (that pitcher Stratsberg or whatever who is a STUD).

IDK who Kim Ng is and that Seattle wants her to take the job.

They have the inside track to good Latin American and Japanese players. They will sign Bobby V, who is one of the best managers in baseball.

Ichiro is Japanese so I'm guessing they know international players, screw it if I forgot how thier scouts wanted Kei Igawa, meanwhile Bobby V is a name NY knows so that's why he is the best manager in baseball.

AL West is pathetic division. Their ownership will spend money and have some young talent.

IDK for a fact that they want to spend money even though they've been trying to get rid of money.

Seattle future > Yankees future. Factor in low stress, no interference from their owner, lack of competition in the AL West, and it is a no brainer.

I need to sound right and if I say Sea > NY most likely people will forget.

If Cashman comes back here over Seattle, he is dumber than I thought.

You know I really don't want him back he couldn't get me Santana, Harden or Sabathia.

IMO Cashman returns. It would be an embarrasment for him to leave the year the team misses the playoffs largely due to the blind faith he put in 2 untested rookies and he screws up the 1st 2 picks of the amateur draft. He'd be leaving a lot of unfinished business.

Did anyone else laugh when Kay started talking about how the Red Sox had a decision to make with Varitek? How he wants Posada-like money? What will they do? Push the Captain out the door?
