James Loney in the postgame said what all the young Dodgers have been saying for the past two months about Manny...his work ethic in preparing for a game...nobody works harder, and it's rubbed off...Ethier, Loney, Kemp, Martin. Cano would bat .350, or close to it, if Manny wore the pinstripes next year. Arod would be re-ignited (Manny for G behind him?) Don't bet against it.

That's just Buster's opinion - he knows as much about the situation as we do, meaning nothing. He has no clue as to what the Yankees would offer for Peavy (Phil's name comes up all the time by sportswriters and frankly, they are just pulling names out of hat).

Also, the Yankees never offered Hughes and Kennedy, plus Melky, for Santana., Buster is an idiot - he should do his homework. Cash did not want to include Hughes in the Santana deal, he only did it very reluctantly. The deal was off the table in a few days once the Twins didn't bite - they asked for Phil, got him, then demanded more from the Yankees. Additionally, the Yankees asked the Twins what the Twins were looking for in a Santana deal - the Yankees never offered up specific players.

Lowe is so gross. The Cubs should be able to get to him. I remember watching him blowe so many games when he was with the Sux. But then I have to remember - this is the NL.

Showalter '09 ,

Cubs have to win. I have no faith in the Phillies. And as much as I love Joe, he can NOT go to the WS with the freaking Dodgers. No.

Trading Cano for Matt Holliday would be a terrible move. Without mentioning Cano's ability on offense and defense, just look at who is on the Yankees. Matsui, Nady, and Damon are all corner outfielders. So is Holliday. The Yankees have no middle infielders in the farm system while their best position player is an outfielder. Holliday is a .280 hitter with 30 HRs away from Coors Field over the last 3 years (he's hit .370 at home with twice as many HRs). Holliday is 3 years older than Cano. Holliday is also a free agent after next season along with Carl Crawford and Jason Bay.

Orlando Hudson is 30 years old, and is not as talented as Cano.

I hope Cashman doesn't consider a trade like this. If Cano is traded, it only makes sense to trade him for a top starting pitcher because there are no top hitting CFers available and its too easy to find good hitting corner outfielders or first baseman.
