This must be the only Yankee blog whose commenters actually care about the relationship between Girardi and the media.

"Thank goodness for Pete"? Please. Stop brown-nosing and realize that all this harping about Girardi just degrades this blog.

My concern with Girardi is whether his so-called positive spin is just a cover for his inability to truly see and then learn from his mistakes.

I'm particularly concerned about the fact that he seems oblivious to the fact that his 3rd base coach needs to be replaced. Even his own players were ignoring Mecham's signs towards the end of the season.

Unfortunately for Giradi, he often comes off as delusional, rather than positive to those of us who happen to be realists in the world (unlike so many of the posters on this blog).

Pete,

Remember when fanboys and fangirls all over Yankees Universe adored Joe Torre just as uncritically as they do Joe Girardi now?

They worship until suddenly they don't, and then they turn on their former idol.

That day you'll get hundreds of posts criticizing you for not being harsh enough, for still mentioning Girardi's strengths along with his weaknesses.

Wait for it.

We could have gotten Brett Myers when he was sent to the minors, but noone on this site wanted him-could he be the next Cliff Lee next year?

Where are Eric Milton and Victor Zambrano?

Lowe is a Boras client, but looking at the rest of the FA pitchers, he bested Dempster, Perez too erratic, Burnett although not a FA yet could be another Pavano, Sheets is injured, Garland with a WHIP 1.5-no thank you.

Was CC tired or overmatched or both. Buyer now beware on him.

If we can't get CC reasonably my preference for 2 FA pitchers would now be a return of Mussina and Lowe, to go with Wang, Joba, and Hughes/Coke.

My guess is Abreu is offered arbitration, Marte's option is declined[maybe offered a 2 year 7-8M option], Pettitte comes back[imo they should wait on him, no rush], Cano stays, and Matsui stays.

I still think we should get CC. He will give you 200 above average innings and right now he will help us get to the playoffs. Missing the playoffs this year tells me we shouldn't base our signings on post season stats. We can't assume we are in teh playoffs like we used to be able too.

One thing Girardi does need to work on next year is coming up with a cure for those Summertime Blues.
