Brandon,

I don't understand how you say it's either sign Teixeira or sign 2 top starters and then say that he's going to get between $17 and $22 million per year. Which starting pitchers are available for a combined $17, or for that matter, $22 million a year? Oliver Perez will probably get $15 a year and he's hardly a top pitcher.

As much as I want the Yankees to sign CC, if they decide they can't afford CC and Teixeira, I'd rather they sign Teixeira and Burnett. You also say the Yankees have a more pressing need at RF, well, Nady is there and his glove is fine there. Adding Teixeira's bat allows the Yankees to play Gardner a good amount at CF, improving the OF defense.

You argue that Girardi said that the rotation is the priority, and I definitely agree that it's important. However, I take what Cashman says more seriously and he said that the offense scoring 200 less runs is the reason the Yankees are not in the playoffs. He also said he wants a real first baseman to play first base and he wants the team to get younger. Here's Nady and Teixeira's combined numbers compared to Giambi and Abreu:

.307/.384/.531 vs .272/.372/.487

That's a big improvement, they are much younger, and they are only committed to Nady for 1 more year. It also brings in a slugger to take pressure off of A-Rod.

Does anyone know if Votto has a good glove. His bat is great but the only way I give Cincy Hughes is if this kid can field.

"Al from Burger King, I would do that in a heartbeat! I’d trade him for Votto too."

I love Bruce's power 21 bombs in a little over 400 AB's at Yankee Stadium the kid would hit 40+ every year.

The Javelinas play 12:35 p.m. tomorrow. Is that MST?

Anyone know if Big Bust Hughes is pitching? He seems to be one of the headliners.
