Girardi: Changes are going to be made
Here’s what Joe Girardi had to say about the firing of Bobby Meacham:
“Whenever you lose a friend on your staff it’s going to be tough. However, as an organization, it was time to make a change. Bobby is a good baseball man, but moving forward we realize changes are going to have to be made in various areas of the club.”

Who finally put the cookoo back in the clock and woke Girardi up? We definitely need to make some changes and it’s about time he’s on board.
Um, who is A-Rod kidding here?

Bye Bye Bobby.. Thanks for nothing.. We need an old man in there, bring back Yogi, haha jp..
I’ve said it all along, it’s going to be an interesting winter
Solidarity with the decision. Nice.
A-Rod is probably listening to the Saux and Rays game from yesterday, in that pic. HA!!
Finally, the midget gets it.
“Um, who is A-Rod kidding here?”
?
He wears the exact same thing at 3B 150 times a year. Id think hes more recognizable in a hat and shades.
“Brandon (TEIX IS NOT WORTH IT, GET CC !)…”Don’t trade Robi !”

VB IDK I kind of scared of T.O./Creighton/ROY that’s not healthy for my mind”
Brandon Jacobs pounding through the Cowboys line, and running over their secondary, will remedy everything.
He is clueless:

What, “finally?” He’s been on the job in NY one season. He brought in Meachem. The organization wants a change and Girardi goes on the record as being on board with that change, and indicating that more changes may be necessary.
Sounds pretty positive to me.
It’s not like he’s been here several seasons fighting change all the way. “Finally.” Sheesh.
“However, as an organization, it was time to make a change. Bobby is a good baseball man, but moving forward we realize changes are going to have to be made in various areas of the club.â€
Translation: They told me it was Bobby gone, or I was gone.
“Brandon Jacobs pounding through the Cowboys line, and running over their secondary, will remedy everything.”
Until Eli puts one through the goal posts trying to hit Plax in the back of the endzone.
There will be blood.

good luck to media, trying to pick that statement apart.
Doreen.
Didn’t you know, Girardi is a liar…so by saying he is on board with the changes what hes really saying is that he thinks the yankees are stupid – at least according to Peter’s Girardi Translator
He’s not as clueless as the people who insist on criticizing his every move – even completely innocuous things like dining out.
Who says he’s trying to disguise himself? Besides, of course, the gossip site’s headline writer who posted the pictures some stalkerrazzi took.

I’m with you on that one – just about to post the same sentiment.
Actually, Girardi has been on board for a few years now. Only this year he’s manager. I’m just surprised he’s finally on board after what the higher ups have been saying for most of the year already. Don’t take it to heart.
Thanks Doreen!
And I second your Girardi comments. No doubt that makes us “yankee apologists”.
The Yankees are looking into signing two free agent starters, which will use up most of the alloted money if the payroll is to be at 180 million as reported.
We have quite a few Type A free agents-Abreu, ?I-Rod, Marte if option not picked up.
After CC , not sure who I want as a starter. Pettitte signing can wait IMO.
Suspect we will not sign Teixeira, or any other position player that will be making 15-25 million a year.
We will look into trading surplus pitching prospects for young position players to fill the holes. Blalock mentioned. How about Ryan Zimmerman for 1st, Garrett Atkins a former 1st baseman?
Don’t count on getting Joey Votto, and I say no to trading for Adrian Gonzalez, Prince Fielder, or Ryan Howard all who hit lefties poorly and have tons of strikeouts, and would cost us a ton of good prospects!! If you want a lefty basher at first who’ll hit 40-50 homers, and strike out a lot, as a Yankee you might as well sign Adam Dunn for 1st,OF[eventually moving to DH]. At least we don’t lose our best farm system players.
I just cant believe the boys got Williams. I mean how the hell do you stop all those guys? They are all gona have single coverage its going to be insane. But on the other hand its just makes it that much better if we can beat them. Im most worried about just how bad Eli’s chest is hopefully the test come back ok.
Saucy,
From the previous thread, I don’t know why the guy you met got offended with being called black, but that was an isolated event I can assure you. I know over a hundred Jamaicans and alot of them are black and have no problem saying so.
Even Peter Tosh who was one of the original Wailers had a song where he sung about how “if you’re a black man you’re an African. “
Ohhhhh so it wasn’t Madonna it was her lesbian friend and now some other brunette that we have never seen in our life.
“I hope Gerrit Cole’s arm falls off!!!

dallas doesn’t concern me. And even less now, with Romo out. However, how do they manage to stay under the cap $$ ?
If Ross plays like he did last night, Cowboys will put up 50.
Webster is the only impact player back there. May have to start playing Madison more, his veteran savvy might be helpful against these better receivers.
Romo is only out 4 weeks not the season if you arent worried about Dallas they who are you worried about?
Roy Williams is good but is he really worth a 1st, 3rd and 6th round pick?
The cowboys have some great weapons – TO, Williams, Crayton, Barber, Witten but Romo is out for a month or more. Brad Johnson is still Brad Johnson even with all these weapons. When Romo comes back though.. I don’t want to think about it.
I’m pretty shocked the Giants or Eagles didn’t go out and get Tony Gonzalez. The reported asking price was only a third round pick. Gonzalez is still a top TE in the league.
Anyways, that’s my football tangent for today.
Raymagnetic, in that case, you are probably right then that it was an isolated incident.
is Ross’s injury serious?
i wonder if ego’s will end up being an issue with the cowboy’s recievers?
I think it’s admirable of A-Rod to volunteer himself for the Secret Service. Strange, but admirable.
Good for Joe. It’s a good perspective. Girardi wants the Yankees to succeed.
“We have quite a few Type A free agents-Abreu, ?I-Rod, Marte if option not picked up.”
Seriously doubt the Yankees offer Irod arbitration. No team will give up a 1st rounder for him because he sucks (even Varitek is an TypeA – Type A doesn’t equal good) and the Yankees run the risk of him accepting arbitration.
Nice job Yanks!!! I knew Bobby Meacham was the reason why the Yanks didn’t make the playoffs. Not trading co-Cy Young winners Phil Hughes and Ian Kennedy for Johan Santana had nothing to do with the Yankees missing the post season.
Um why is Alex getting criticized for wearing sunglasses and a hat?
If Alex cured cancer, he’d be criticized for not curing all.
“Um why is Alex getting criticized for wearing sunglasses and a hat?If Alex cured cancer, he’d be criticized for not curing all.”
Because he looks like a jackass. Who wears sunglasses AND a hat that isn’t looking to “hide”, yet still eats outside in Manhattan.
Guy is an insecure, confused idiot.
