Hey big cat! Here is a news bulletin for you, the Yankees are playing golf now so deal with it!
Most of us are at least peripherally interested in the playoffs. I’d rather participate in discussions about things that are actually happening than in endless speculative discussions about what could have been. The “what might be” discussions are interesting, but without new information become stale. So, until the hot stove actually fires up, bring on the Rays/Sox and Phils/Dodgers.
baseball is baseball. Unfortunately, the Yanks are playing it – what do you want Pete to post about? The weather? There will be no Yankee topics (other than trade speculation – which, by the way, has been done to death around here) until the Series is over. So unfortunately, if you don’t like the content, just don’t come back until the series is over and then the hot stove will undoubtedly consume this place quickly.
correction: the Yanks are *NOT* playing it
Doreen and sunny – I agree. I’m hoping for a Philly (my wife’s family is from Philly) – Tampa (they’re not the Red Sox) series. I know that will kill FOX (well, that and their own broadcasts), but, c’est la vie.
enjoying the blog/coverage, by Pete
i’m officially rooting for Philly now after being on the fence for a while.
the LA fans just don’t deserve a whirled series. watched the 8th inning on last night and they seemed totally unphased that they were losing such a critical playoff game.
that, and i think they will put up a better fight, no matter which AL team makes it…
Doreen ;
The actual “hot stove” time is 15 days after the World Series when players can file for free agency.
Until then we may only see a coaching change or two and some 40-man roster tinkering which will be discussed later this week in Tampa for the organizational meetings.
A Phillies – Rays series would be one of interest. A sigh of relief of not being sujected of watching the sillies of Boston is welcome.
The Phillies and Rays have meaningful stories to highten the series and players to like without baggage.

Umm…the Philly fan is deserving? Have you ever attended a sporting event in Philadelphia?
