Proctor needed surgery, Gordon became a shell of what he was and Luis Vizcaino is shot. Ever since the decay of Stanton and Nelson (due to age, not over use) Torre has ridden his prime set up man way too hard. You are one of the few who doesn't see that. GB 7 —

Unfortunately, nobody will ever know who exactly was in that trade. The idea of getting Santana wasn’t the issue. It was the steep cost in talent and salary.

Speaking of that trade, what happened this year with Hilligoss? I really thought he’d do well in Tampa, along with Fortenberry, who I still really like as a player. I’m hoping that Hilligoss and Tim Battle also really get it going in 2009.
