GB 7 ---

We agree a lot of the time but you have blinders on when it comes to Torre and his abuse of certain relievers. Quantril has a proven work horse before Torre rode him to death. Sturtze was a former starter with no over use prior to the rath of Joe. Proctor needed surgery, Gordon became a shell of what he was and Luis Vizcaino is shot. Ever since the decay of Stanton and Nelson (due to age, not over use) Torre has ridden his prime set up man way too hard.

You are one of the few who doesn't see that.

NYY 2008 = Bull Durham

Madonna = Annie Savoy
ARod = Nuke LaLoosh

Maybe a summer with Madonna is what's need to get ARod's confidence up!

Much like all that Hughes / Sanatana rubbish….

Unfortunately, nobody will ever know who exactly was in that trade. The idea of getting Santana wasn't the issue. It was the steep cost in talent and salary.

Speaking of that trade, what happened this year with Hilligoss? I really thought he'd do well in Tampa, along with Fortenberry, who I still really like as a player. I'm hoping that Hilligoss and Tim Battle also really get it going in 2009.

GB7, I think we chased Tricia and her pals away….They must be celebrating their new team’s wim….

Nahhh...they'll find their way back. I never cared that Torre was moved out, just have a problem with non-existant faults. He had enough without ones that have become "urban legends". The "he kills pitchers careers" BS is as bad as he never won anywhere until the Yanks. I guess he never managed anywhere but with the Mets...who were some of the worst teams in history.

The last 8 years have been a collective team effort for failure....from the ownership, front office manager, staff and players. what I don't understand is the rooting against him, Mattingly, Bowa more than rooting for the Phillies. I guess some love to see him fail, so they can say "Tols you so." The fact is, he was in the post season again.

Actually Clare that's called Age-ism.

Who Arod dates is not, never has been, and never will be proper news for a baseball blog. It has no impact on baseball whatsoever. All reporting it does is fuel the fire.
