Yeah but the Giants were going up against a hobbled Brady and the perennial choker Randy Moss. These Sox are replete with clutch performers and the Rays have all ruined their swings by going HR happy. I can't imagine how the Rays aren't playing with cement shoes tonight. I remember the Yankees game 7 in 2004. Same thing. Like watching the walking dead. Sure there's a chance the Rays will surprise but it's rare for a proven champion to let their foot off the throat in a game like this.

Anyone thinking that it's preordained that the Sox will not only win this series but also beat the Phillies is foolish. As we've learned, there's no 'mystic force' for the Sox. Tampa screwed up in game 5 and didn't get enough on Beckett in Game 6. I still like Tampa's chances in game 7. Lester is not unhittable and Tampa has good bats. And even if the Sox do get to the WS, the Phils are no rollovers. Arms and bodies are rested. Sox are not dominating or unbeatable. IF Sox make it to the WS, I don't think they win.
Anyone remember the chances that folks gave the Giants in the SB? Never count anyone out or say anyone is 'done'.

I'd say there is about a 90% chance tomorrow's game will be a blowout. Years from now Tampa fans are going to look back at this series on Baseball Reference and be surprised that they only lost Game 6 by 2 runs and think that maybe they were a couple of hits here and there away from the World Series but anyone who just watched this game understands that they were dominated tonight and once the Sox took the lead Tampa didn't pose even the mildest threat. You know how I know this? Because I recently checked Baseball Reference on the 2004 ALCS and you know what the final score of Game 6 was? Yep, you guessed it, and they Yankees never had a chance in that one either.

Does anyone buy into the conspiracy theory that MLB wants Boston/Philly and are giving all the close pitches to Boston? I noticed that pretty much every close pitch went to them tonight.
