Today that was the case with U$C, yes. They could have a good shot, they don't really have any tough games remaining on their schedule; Cal is probably their toughest opponent left and that's in LA and... well, it remains to be seen whether Cal will even be tough.

Maybe one of the other games will be a trap, who knows. The computers won't like SC that much. An undefeated Penn St. and the champs from the SEC and Big 12 should all be ranked higher. Pending further developments.

Penn St, in the national title game would be a travesty. they are a product of their schedule/coference

USC, LSU, Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama, Florida etc... basically all of the upper echelon teams from the SEC and Big 12 would wipe the floor with Penn state.

Have they not learned anything from Ohio's embarrassment in the title game these past 2 years?

I'm not on that bandwagon either, but I did want them to win today. Shameful but true.

It is absolutely fascinating to find so many Pinstripe Bleeders (I am one of them) as evidenced by the postings on this and many other boards; especially when the organization, across the board (ownership, executive management, general manager, field manager and staff, player personnel, minor league structure and personnel etc, ad nauseum), has spiralled down to mediocrity over the past 6 years so dramatically (by Yankee standards, not teams in general). It reminds me of the late 60's. The give and take as to which free agent should be pursued or shunned yields a diversity of opinion, which is refreshing. It is sound, however, if it is consistent with mine, which is as follows:

Yay.... Tex and CC
Nay.... Manny, AJ, Lowe

Was rather disappointed with the PSU win, obviously The Ohio State was not on the "Get USC to the Title Game" bandwagon.
