I think we should all be accustomed to this sort of thing, what with Interleague play, where fans are made to wait during rain delays.

They should have been proactive and started yesterday's game earlier. God forbid Fox not get their 8:30ish start time.

The weather in the North East and other parts of the country in mid to late October is not suitable for baseball. Wouldn't it be better to shorten the season so that the world series ends during the first ten days of October?

Wow, Pete, such a well-educated following of blog readers. Although I was surprised to hear the forcast for this morning was inaccurate. Who would have thought the weatherman would get it wrong? ;)

Seriously, I once read somewhere that it is very difficult to predict the weather with tremendous accuracy more than 18 hours in advance- is this true? Because I also heard that Gary Coleman died from eating Pop Rocks and drinking Mountain Dew. This, I have learned, is not correct.

Owen's blog entry was ok, but his call about the worst being over by 9AM (this morning) didn't work out quite that well. The rain (and even snow in some areas near and around Philly) continues. MLB at least made a good call to push the game to Wednesday, tho it never should have been started in the first place.

Ewing might be a nice kid, but he was a mediocre college player who didn't start as a senior. He never would have gotten a look under another name. Good luck in the NBADL kid.

Hamels only threw 75 pitches. I'd say him starting game seven is a lock if it comes to that.

Without a doubt, if the World Series, such as it is, was being played in New York City you would be singing its praises to the skyscrapers. Frankly, your "who cares" comment is just another example of tasteless New York, self-congratulatory elitism. I lived in New York for a period of years, and I found that it is as provential, maybe more so, as Minneapolis, Atlanta and Kansas City. It is past time that you oh-so-smug New Yorkers realize that outside of the Yankees and the theater district, you are merely bigger and more brutish.
