I read somewhere that Mr. Giambi is a non ranked free agent thus no compensation picks for losing him. Given this info. would you rather sign him to maybe one year with incentives. He is probably a better alternative to DH than the remaining crew. Not a bad option as a pinch hitter who could take a walk for the team. They could do worse than him manning the bag at first particularly as a backup to TEX man.
Moose is a different story. No brainer if he should decide to come back. God bless him if he stays home. Just have him throwing to the bucket to stay ready should……

No, “as well as” isn’t the same as using “and.” The phrase “as well as profound gratitude” modifies the subject, it doesn’t compound it.

You could always say, “My deepest sympathy and profound gratitude go out to the family.”

Read the article though and the guy has clearly lost touch. One of the bigger criticisms I hear about the NFL is overtime and how they need to switch to something like college overtime rules. Now this guy is mocking that idea in addition to his other lunacy.
