He’s a left handed bat, but, he hits left handers better than right handers….311 against left handers and .281 against right handers. He’s not a game buster, but, he certainly won’t kill a rally, either.

S0S27, he is a natural 1st baseman. If NYY has power in right field, 3rd, 2nd, DH and catcher, along with .300 hitters up and down the line-up, a singles/doubles type hitter isn’t going to kill them. When the person said to Girardi "but he's always hurt", Girardi said he'd rather have 22 starts from Sheets than 35 starts from other pitchers. If Sheets becomes a Yankee, that might be telling of the influence Girardi has over personnel decisions. It’s an excellent idea…since we need a corner outfielder and 1B..
