I just take it as an example of “he said she said” meaning that men and women seldom speak the same language to begin with, and older generations of men likely speak a more foreign version than younger generations. There are always exceptions of course.

Sometimes I go with female speak – for obvious reasons – and end up having to break it down into a different language because men and women don’t necessary have the same filters.

I imagine that GM meetings these days are more like meetings of ivy-league, preppy statisticians talking about VORPS rather than a bunch of old baseball lifers telling old war stories and drinking too much.

Also, I did a little research on Billy Eppler, who’s about 33-34 years of age so perhaps he has some potential to be something special for the Yankees as a baseball executive with scouting and evaluation skills.

Yes, Beltran would help Booby somewhat in the gap, but not the “Waaaalllll” plays. Does anyone know the composition of the right field Wall in the new Met park? That may well be the determining factor. Rumor also has it that the Cubs might be interested in Booby; I assume they will tell him, up front that there’s brick behind the ivy. How do you think Sweet Lou would react when Booby does his usual on a “Brick Play?”

That may be true, Fredo. However, other organizations aren’t as free with their money as we are. The Mets may have the money; doesn’t mean that they want to spend it.
