Pete, you said the 3rd base coach is within the organization, if it isnt Luis Sojo, could it be Tino Martinez?

Padres GM towers reports Jake Peavy now would waive his no trade for 2 AL Teams, those teams being the Yankees and Angels. Wow jump on that Cashman.

Hughes is apparently pitching tonight. Did not know that. Go Phil.

Thanks for the info on Cashman. The offseason is long and it's always nice to receive updates.

Trisha.... A word in your defense. It's true every GM's job would be easier without all the media attention. It's also true those jobs would pay about a tenth of what they do as a result. Media scrutiny follows fan interest, it doesn't create it. Most media guys are decent people and I think they try to respect the GM's job but at time it must be an adversarial relationship and when it is, they DO avoid dealing with the media.

Maybe that explains it more clearly than brainless name calling.

Now on to the hot stove... if the Yanks are counting on Joba then my guess is two outsiders or one plus Pettite. The # 5 job can be a competition among the many candidates starting with Hughes, Kennedy and Aceves plus whoever else is in camp. If no one emerges, then a trade might be in order.

Pete--- did you ask about the Marte rumor or get any inkling where Cashman is leaning in that regard?

Well Trisha, all I would say to you is that if Journalism was in fact your major, you should appreciate the job members of the press such as Pete do. Your comments made it seem like Pete was a burden on Cashman.

6. The Yankees are close to naming a third base coach and it sounds like it will come from within. That could mean Luis Sojo.

!!!!!! NICE!!!!!!!

Another one of my favorites!

Soho is always good for the locker room.
