Have questions about the Yankees? Of course you do.

I’m not entirely sure how it works, but we’ve managed to set up a live video chat tomorrow at 11 a.m. ET. I’ll be on the LoHud Yankees Blog Mogulus channel from the General Manager Meetings. This is a bit of an experiment, seeing if we can do live chats on location.

So tune in tomorrow at 11 a.m., bring some questions and I’ll do my best to answer them.

“So tune in tomorrow at 11 a.m.”

    NY or LA time?

  10. trisha - I predicted the Rays over the Sux; I predicted the Phils over the Rays; stick with me. Yankees will win it all next season! :) November 3rd, 2008 at 1:16 pm

mel – I just heard the same thing on WEEI.

  11. Brandon (TEIX IS NOT WORTH IT, GET CC !)..."Don't trade Robi !" November 3rd, 2008 at 1:17 pm

Teix is gonna get paid Baltimore and now Washington is set to break the bank on him, that’s right whatever it takes was the word in Baltimore through a few of thier fans.

So Was, Balt, NY*, BOS…How is he not going to get $25 MIL I’d say he is well on his well to get just not from us.

  12. Ed - looking forward to 2009 November 3rd, 2008 at 1:18 pm

    Mel, it’s true.

The Nuggets and Pistons have agreed in principle on a trade that would send Allen Iverson to Detroit and Chauncey Billups, Antonio McDyess and Cheikh Samb to Denver, sources have told ESPN.

The deal has not been finalized.

  13. mel November 3rd, 2008 at 1:18 pm

    Trisha,

Yes. ESPN said they’re waiting to finalize the deal Dice & Chauncey for AI.

    Poor Chauncey. :(

Shucks. Now the Nuggets will actually start playing some defense.

  14. mel November 3rd, 2008 at 1:20 pm

    Brandon,

I could *live* with CC, Burnett, and a lesser 1B.

  15. Ed - looking forward to 2009 November 3rd, 2008 at 1:20 pm

“Teix is gonna get paid Baltimore and now Washington is set to break the bank on him”

I guess the Nationals are sick of Nick Johnson and Dmitri Young already.

  16. trisha - I predicted the Rays over the Sux; I predicted the Phils over the Rays; stick with me. Yankees will win it all next season! :) November 3rd, 2008 at 1:20 pm

mel, I know little to nothing about basketball but the EEI guys couldn’t understand the deal and said they didn’t see how it made Detroit a better team. They also said they couldn’t understand how trading someone like Billips helped the team and that he was solid, stable, etc.

From what you know of the players involved, does that track with your thinking?

  17. mel November 3rd, 2008 at 1:20 pm

    Ed,

LOL. Just figured out how to bold. By accident.

  18. Mark in Tampa November 3rd, 2008 at 1:21 pm

Will the live chat be at 11:00 Eastern, 11:00 Pacific time, or in this netherworld forward one hour blog time?

  19. Brandon (TEIX IS NOT WORTH IT, GET CC !)..."Don't trade Robi !" November 3rd, 2008 at 1:21 pm

What ! A.I. ? when ! He’s my favorite SG sin the NBA ..what happened when ? why ?

  20. Ed - looking forward to 2009 November 3rd, 2008 at 1:22 pm

    Mel,

LOL yeah I saw. this is starting to become very strange. :)

  21. Brandon (TEIX IS NOT WORTH IT, GET CC !)..."Don't trade Robi !" November 3rd, 2008 at 1:24 pm

“I guess the Nationals are sick of Nick Johnson and Dmitri Young already.”

They can’t be serious all rumors have the mid price at $150 MIL so IDK but the word is Bowden is gonna spend some dough on him or Adam Dunn if your Bowden Adam Dunn is the safer choice but what a way to make your joke of a roster matter in Baltimore.

  22. trisha - I predicted the Rays over the Sux; I predicted the Phils over the Rays; stick with me. Yankees will win it all next season! :) November 3rd, 2008 at 1:25 pm

    Me too!

    :D

  23. mel November 3rd, 2008 at 1:25 pm

    trisha,

If AI’s the A-rod of basketball, then Billup’s the Jeter of basketball.

Billups is not flashy, but a very, very solid player. Very professional.

Don’t know the years left on Billups, but the fact that they needed 2 good players + a throw in tells you how much AI was making.

Very, very good deal for the Nuggets. Billups and Dice add instant credibility.

Dice is a surprise, he was an important role player for the Pistons.

But the Pistons did say that no one was safe and that they were going to make changes because what they were doing wasn’t working.

    Bold move IMO.

  24. Brandon (TEIX IS NOT WORTH IT, GET CC !)..."Don't trade Robi !" November 3rd, 2008 at 1:25 pm

The Pistons think Stuckey is ready and Denver has always wanted a real PG. WOW A.I. to Detroit.

  25. trisha - I predicted the Rays over the Sux; I predicted the Phils over the Rays; stick with me. Yankees will win it all next season! :) November 3rd, 2008 at 1:25 pm

Well, not me too. I thought I had it figured out – (how to bold)

  26. trisha - I predicted the Rays over the Sux; I predicted the Phils over the Rays; stick with me. Yankees will win it all next season! :) November 3rd, 2008 at 1:27 pm

(This is for Glenn, from a few blogs ago!)

Uh – there is no big deal with the private jet. It got kind of off track because I mentioned that Cashman seems to be a real down-to-earth guy and doesn’t feel the need to play “look at me!” So I commented that I believed that Cashman woulnd’t be the kind who really gave a crap about what kind of transportation he took since he seems like he has more class than that – meaning that he doesn’t need to be treated like he’s Donald Trump.

I stand by that. But that somehow got twisted into the jet vs. no jet issue.

I just take it as an example of “he said she said” meaning that men and women seldom speak the same language to begin with, and older generations of men (no offense SJ44) likely speak a more foreign version than younger generations. There are always exceptions of course.

Sometimes I go with female speak – for obvious reasons – and end up having to break it down into a different language because men and women don’t necessary have the same filters.

  27. mel November 3rd, 2008 at 1:28 pm

*trisha, asterisks around text to be bolded.

  28. vinny-b (Matt Holliday ----- NOT Tex) November 3rd, 2008 at 1:28 pm

“I guess the Nationals are sick of Nick Johnson and Dmitri Young already”

Ed: at one time, i honestly believed NJ would have a monument, beyond the left-field wall.

too bad, he had not remained healthy in his career, and with NYY

  29. Ed - looking forward to 2009 November 3rd, 2008 at 1:29 pm

    Brandon,

I’m guessing the Nats and the O’s wants to “become next year’s Rays”. If the Nats does infact landed Teix, they better be prepare to trade Zimmerman since he will start demanding some $$$ soon.

  30. trisha - I predicted the Rays over the Sux; I predicted the Phils over the Rays; stick with me. Yankees will win it all next season! :) November 3rd, 2008 at 1:29 pm

mel – check this out. When I went to “view source” this is how it showed up!

I could live with CC, Burnett, and a lesser 1B.

  31. vinny-b (Matt Holliday ----- NOT Tex) November 3rd, 2008 at 1:29 pm

Mr. Big Shot, on his way to denver

  32. trisha - I predicted the Rays over the Sux; I predicted the Phils over the Rays; stick with me. Yankees will win it all next season! :) November 3rd, 2008 at 1:31 pm

    mel – he he he.

okay. It had the word “strong” in brackets in front of the word “live” and then it had “/strong” in brackets after the word “live”.

    *Go figure*

  33. trisha - I predicted the Rays over the Sux; I predicted the Phils over the Rays; stick with me. Yankees will win it all next season! :) November 3rd, 2008 at 1:31 pm

    :D

  34. Brandon (TEIX IS NOT WORTH IT, GET CC !)..."Don't trade Robi !" November 3rd, 2008 at 1:31 pm

Ed can you imagine what SP prospect they would land for Ryan Zimmerman in a trade ? I don’t think this happens but a WOW move if it does.

  35. Ed - looking forward to 2009 November 3rd, 2008 at 1:31 pm

    Vinny B,

Brandon and I believed if NJ had stayed with the Yanks, he could have remained healthy. But who knows? Just blame the Mets for Nick’s broken leg. They caused a collision between him and Austin Kerns.

  36. vinny-b (Matt Holliday ----- NOT Tex) November 3rd, 2008 at 1:32 pm

“Just blame the Mets for Nick’s broken leg”

    works for me.

  37. Brandon (TEIX IS NOT WORTH IT, GET CC !)..."Don't trade Robi !" November 3rd, 2008 at 1:32 pm

“Mr. Big Shot, on his way to denver”

I always thought he would retire a Piston, I mean you talk about great Big Shot PGs Chauncey Billups is it, and it’s funny that Mr.Magoo made him what he is.

  38. The Mad Prince in Pinstripes November 3rd, 2008 at 1:33 pm

John Heyman is predicting the Yankees sign Sabathia AND Burnett.

    Doubtful.

  39. Ed - looking forward to 2009 November 3rd, 2008 at 1:34 pm

    Brandon,

Bowden obiviously wants some ML ready pitching prospects. I would say if has to start with Hughes and Marquez, and it goes from there.

  40. Brandon (TEIX IS NOT WORTH IT, GET CC !)..."Don't trade Robi !" November 3rd, 2008 at 1:35 pm

I agree. Those are going to be the 2 big moves for NY this offseason. CC, AJ, Joba at the top. 8O

  41. Ed - looking forward to 2009 November 3rd, 2008 at 12:37 pm

    Vinny,

Nick was going to be healthly all season long 2 years ago. He had a streak since Opening Day till the last week of the season. it was that collision that ended his streak of being healthly when the season was about to be over in a few days.

  42. pat November 3rd, 2008 at 12:37 pm

ESPN polls some GMs reactions to baseball hot topics. Some interesting votes.

  43. Ed - looking forward to 2009 November 3rd, 2008 at 12:38 pm

    update….

  44. The Mad Prince in Pinstripes November 3rd, 2008 at 12:53 pm

I can’t see the Yanks getting CC and Burnett. I think the media is over-hyping CC going for the dollars in the end. It is no lock and rest assured that more teams will be involved than we know right now.

  45. Up w/Joba, down w/Joba (You don't want Manny? ("I'll Call you naive, whatever I want") November 3rd, 2008 at 1:08 pm

I have never seen brought up here, politics, that is. But Bruce Springsteen, devout Yankee Fan and all-American, endorsing Obama, made me decide to write this comment.

Is one allowed to bring up politics here since tomorrow are the elections?

One issue: are Yankee fans really all Republican?

  46. Up w/Joba, down w/Joba (You don't want Manny? ("I'll Call you naive, whatever I want") November 3rd, 2008 at 1:50 pm

AJ’s health problems worry me. Derek Lowe?

  47. mel November 3rd, 2008 at 2:15 pm

Weird. Did we just time-travel (Hiro!)? This is old stuff, but at least the clock is reset.

Back to baseball. Cody Ransom showed some power at SWB, too. Are we in agreement? He opens with the club as the utility infielder?
