Where does Scott Boras go to get competition for the Dodgers?

Probably the same place he went to get competition for the Yankees concerning A-rod. Have the team in question compete against itself.

I still maintain that whole A-rod "dumping" Boras and negotiating directly with the Yankees was a ploy that worked out beautifully for he and his agent. Yankees fell hook, line and sinker for it.

They realized how badly they pissed off the Yanks, how badly they pissed off MLB by making a splash during the WS. They came up with this crazy scheme and Hank/Hal/Cashman all succumbed to it. Don't think for a minute that Boras was out of the negotiations and had no idea what was going on until after the negotiatons were completed.

Trisha, you may be right. However, I would suggest that everyone start sticking pins in a Manny doll (assuming they don't want him in Pinstripes); Michael Kay is probably doing exactly that.

Knudson, I don't have the answer to that except to suggest that since Hank has publicly come out and said he finds Manny interesting, it wouldn't be extremely smart of Cashman to come out and say the opposite. Maybe what we have to take out of the situation is that unless we hear otherwise the Yankees are not pursuing Manny? I mean Cashman doesn't come out and give a laundry list of people he's not interested in, but it doesn't mean that it could mean that he is just because he hasn't said otherwise.

Just a thought.

Now why hasn't Cashman done an "Omar" and say that he is not interested in Manny, for whatever reason? That would certainly "clear the air", wouldn't it?

Tom - he was brutal during the end of his tenure there. Remember how the MRIs on his knees showed no injury? According to EEI, they held a team meeting the night before he was traded to the Dodgers and the story goes that except for one person, all of the players wanted him to disappear.

You also had to listen to Curt Schilling on EEI to realize how horrid Manny really was, stories that Curt said never made the media. He and Manny came to blows once during spring training.

What happened to Manny's knee injury? The final 2 weeks he was in Boston he couldn't play because of his knee....

Seems like he lied.

"Even when Boras has nowhere to go, he always finds somewhere to go.

Where to find a home for a defensively mediocre LF with a big bat, a bad attitude toward the media and the ability to put butts in the seats- How about San Francisco? That formula seemed to work with Bonds."

True to both!

Boras fan - Drive hit it right on the head with Manny. It isn't anything he made up. All of that stuff and more was entirely public! Drive 4-5 lives right there, and I live 40 miles from the Sux so we are both much more aware of what goes on with the Sux than are people who don't live quite as close.
