Johnny...

Why is this worth posting, as Pet said "it's just a formality"? Pete used that description for Moose's filing; Pavano's is something entirely different. Carl Pavano was paid a lot of money to get hurt. He liked getting hurt, and the most egregious example, I think, was his Florida Porsche accident in 2006.

Pavano obviously wanted the check but not the work in Pinstripes.

Good riddance. See ya, wouldn't want to be ya.

Tom ( you can't be neutral on a moving train)
November 5th, 2008 at 6:09 pm
His parade should end at the Fresh Kills Landfill.

Dumping him off in Far Rockaway or Bed-Stuy would be just as good.

Anybody remember Steve Kemp? He wasn’t even injured, as I remember, but he played like it.

------------------

True! I forgot that he was a free agent as well... I'm sure there are many other who will reset easier now that the Idol saga has ended. I would argue he's the worst NYY Free agent signing. But is he the worst of all time? Worst than the Rangers signing of Justin Thompson, which I believe might be the worst of all time?

Pete,

Unless you've had an off-the-record conversation with Moose, Tellem or someone truly in the know, I will go by the saying of that esteemed Pennsylvanian (just like Moose) Ben Franklin, who said that neither a fortress nor a maidenhead will hold out long after they begin to Parlay.

(i.e. Moose is coming back).

I'm not going to lie to you. The more Moose talk there is - or the more Moose hasn't retired - the more psyched I get. Being an optimist by nature, I reason that there would be no reason for Moose to file for free agency if he was sure he was going to retire.
