Why so many take every rumor as gospel is beyond me. I like and admire Pettite, it seems obvious he pitched late last year when he should have skipped a start or to two get some rest for that shoulder. I'd be shocked if anyone guaranteed him two years unless it was for half (or less) the $ 16 M he made last year. I'm definitely all in for Tex and CC, all out w/ Manny. And, I've always thought Texiera was a great fit. It's funny, though, there are a number of teams who could sign those guys, and a number of other factors that could play into the players' decisions. It would be great to get both, but we shouldn't count on landing either.
