pmlb2-5322555dt.jpgNow that the 2008 season is over, the Yankees can get on with the business of selling t-shirts for the 2009 season.

There is already a new logo for the 2009 season at the new Stadium and it’s just in time for holiday shopping. Be assured this patch will be on the uniforms and everything else they can slap it on.

Hopefully they ran it by CC Sabathia first to make sure he likes it.

  1. Ed - looking forward to 2009

“Be assured this patch will be on the uniforms and everything else they can slap it on.”

im sure they would like to tag it on their…..

(too easy to crack a joke at it. lol)

Well, what would a Yankee uniform be without some kind of adornment? :)

And, well, first things first, you know?

  3. Al from BK( Fit CC for pinstripes. Jets are tied for first!)

why does it look so tattered. are we becoming the red sox with the worn look.

“Hopefully they ran it by CC Sabathia first to make sure he likes it.”

Vertically striped facade on the patch on a vertically pinstriped uniform. Doubly slimming! Although the bankroll in his pocket is likely to add back a litle girth.

  5. jennifer

    Don’t like it.

  6. E-Man

That logo looks dumb. Who comes up with these?

  7. Doreen

The patch is fine – I don’t like the t-shirts, though.

  8. Marc W

Not a great logo, the closing one was better. all what matters if CC likes wearing it on his pinstripes

  9. The Cro

A blank “pennant” atop the frieze? Why remind us about what we didn’t win last year – ie: a Pennant?!?

If you want to make it more memorable or a keepsake, why not incorporate an American Flag instead?

I agree with the other contributors above: I’m underwhelmed.

  10. Art Vandelay

What about a dollar sign for a patch?

  11. bigjf

I think it looks ok, but it looks too much like the ASG patch. I don’t feel like they put a whole lot of work into it. Still, I’m sure it will sell plenty.

  12. Art Vandelay

They may not put a lot of thought into the uniform patches. But they better put some thought into the free agents and trades.

Yankees need to let it go, how much flair do they require their players to wear? Enough with the nerdy pins, lapels, stamps, coins, flags, buttons and other assortment of lame tchochkies, only thing real fans care about is the Commissoner’s trophy.
