Peter:

Thanks for giving such up to date information regarding the Yankees. What I would like to address is the affects that our struggling economy will have on the Yankees, and the Steinbrenner's. I believe you said that seven of the luxury boxes have remained unsold. I read somewhere else that they are all down the foul lines, and priced at somewhere between $600,000-$850,000 a piece. Clearly these boxes are being purchased by large companies who can afford this type of season box. With our economy in such dire straits and companies facing such economic struggles, it is very possible that these boxes will not be purchased all year long for those prices. My question is how will this struggling economy affect Mr. Steinbrenner's pocket with such a hefty payroll. I'm sure all of the seats that the Yankees were intending on selling for $2000 a ticket behind home plate will not be sold out either, at least for that price. I feel like this could end up being a real shock, with a $200 Million payroll and possibly a stadium that is not sold out, the big boss could end up losing some money. What do you think? I know the T.V deal is always a big money maker, but it may not be as profitable this year.

While we are on the subject which big time free agents do you think the Yankees will end up signing? I am fairly confident that C.C will end up in pinstripes, but which of the other big name pitchers do you think they will get. To be honest with you, I personally think that Peavy is the best of all. He had a down year, but the morale in San Diego was so low. He has some of the most electrifying stuff in the league, and I know that he would be a huge asset to the Yankees rotation. Even more of an assest than C.C would be. Burnett has always been a head case, yes he has a live fastball and a deadly curve ball, but you can count on him to get inside his own head and start causing some problems.

Prince Hal and Falstaff. That’s who the Steinbrenner brothers are….

^^^
that's pretty good. Some would argue that the Yankees have been "stealing purses" for years.

George is a little too senile at this point to be Bolingbroke, however.

LIKELY result:

CC
Wang
Pettitte
FA
Joba

If that second FA is not signed, it will come down to a spring training battle amongst the prospects (Hughes, Aceves, Kennedy, etc.)
I would be pretty happy with this.

teams wan't equal or more value when making trade so when a trade is made the value on paper is so close that you can't tell who made out in the deal.

how do we know if trading hughes, kennedy, ajax for kemp or loney will benefit the yankees or can even be pulled off? we don't and i don't.

what happens if the yankees traded cano for matt cain and he becomes great and cano regresses even further?

it might look bad initially but until you look back after a few years you just don't know so my suggestion to you mel would be to stop acting like you think you know what is right or wrong or good or bad when nobody else does for certain.

cashman made many bad moves and he is the gm for the yankees and you and i are typing an opinion on a blogg pretending to be a gm.

bru,

Dude. You really believe what you just wrote?

Your crazy scenarios and trade ideas are entertaining, but you really seem to have latched on to this PED theory.

I think the more logical and likely explanation is that he was injured.

------------------------------------------------------------

i didn't latch onto anything.i understand that it is probable that he was injured but hgh helps in recovering from injuries and we do not know the whole story.

i don't wan't to go on and on about ped's and get everybody involved.i have mixed opinions and nothing is in stone.

i think you are taking this way to serious.

as far as my crazy trade scenarios i am open to anything and everything and do not believe that any player is untradeable to better the team.

when baseball experts,gm's and everybody else in the world for the most part would at least consider trading cano, hughes and almost everybody else for THE RIGHT PLAYER(S) wich they do then i have to believe and do believe that you can trade a player or player and get more value in return even though sometimes you won't be able to tell how well you make out for a few years.

look at the holliday trade.the a's can trade him right now for much more than they gave up.
colorado i hear is now realizing that they didn't get fair trade value so anything is possible.

you are like anybody else in the world,a person with opinions who express them.

when i see something that you type that makes me think you are any more intelligent than me or anybody else for that matter i might give a hoot about what you might say.

baseball experts write things all the time that you and i might think is crazy but we don't know for certain.people critisize things just for the sake of doing so before they even read or understand what they are critisizing.

it is just my opinions at the time when i type them, nothing serious, just me goofing around,i change my mind all the time.

anyways to make a long story short RELAX DUDE.

Look at Andy's last 8-11 starts:

He had 3 starts that were awful and 8 were typical Pettitte.

I'm response to the part about the new stadium, do you think all this technology was necessary? I can see why they felt the need to do it (why not make it as nice as possible) but on the other hand, I feel like maybe the money could have been spared!

What do you think?

i don't suck up to frank. and i agree with BBB that there's really no reason to keep him around now that kidd's gone. but i have no idea who a better replacement would be. and i'll admit they're not going anywhere this year, replacing him now would just set that replacement up for failure...

I’ll bet in a few years the Yankees will have an in-house blog to foster their own network.

Well, if they don't hire you, Pete, they can give us a call.
