If Texeira stays in the AL, and we don't get him, we're not going to the WS. I'm sorry, but Swisher doesn't cut it.

"How are the yankees planning to replace the production from Giambi and Abreu?
"

By improving pitching so that they do not have to score as many runs. Both are related.

Pettite will be a Yankee, if the Yankees want him, simple as that. If not, I think there is a 1% chance he plays elsewhere.

Again, to reiterate, I would stay as far away as possible from Lowe and Sheets. Sheets will be the American Idle Part II, and Lowe will have a 4.75 ERA in the AL East.

The more I think about it, I just have a gut feeling that CC is not going to come to NY. Son of a #$@$@. Burnett will be in pinstripes next year though, guaranteed.

"Wow, ‘great’ used to be reserved for players that were, well, great. "

Forgive me for calling someone great who over his 6 years in the league has won 2 gold gloves, and whose average 162 game stats are:

.290 BA, 101 Runs, 36 HRs, 121 RBIS, +134 OPS.

I'd call that a pretty great player. Pujols is better of course. Ryan Howard and Prince Fielder are not unless you are only judging based on raw power, weight, and highest % body fat. That said, I still think that it would be a mistake to sign him to a 7-8 year contract.

Didn't CC miss part or all of the 2005 or 2006 season while he was with the Indians?

"Rick Rhoden was a DH for Billy Martin one game in the ‘80s & he had a Sac Fly. Why can’t CC pinch hit every so often?"

"Tex is a great player"

Wow, 'great' used to be reserved for players that were, well, great.

A-Rod is great, Mariano is great. Tex? nope.

If you jumbled up the league you would pick him 3rd or 4th among 1st basemen (Pujols and that guy who just won the WS ring for the Phillies and puts the ball over the fence. Cecil Fielder is right there too. ease up.

Hmm I thought bullpen needed more help. Shouldn't we focus more in signing a reliever?
