If you’re on Facebook, the LoHud Yankees Blog group is now operational. Thought it might be a good way to encourage more people to read the blog and/or get to know each other better.

So now you have that option. My hope is that Facebook will enhance the social network going on here, not take away from it. If you have any concerns or suggestions, please drop me an e-mail.

UPDATE, 12:35 p.m.: Nothing is changing with this blog. Just trying to use Facebook to generate some more interest, that’s all.

Would this automatically link one to the social network of Lace and Stiletto too?

Here’s the link to the group :)

    from previous thread:

Do you what CC’s hometown is? Vallejo, CA.

Do you know what county Vallejo is in? Solano County.

Can you name a neighboring county to the west? Marin County.

Does it take long to drive from Valljo to Marin County? No.

If you’re looking for a good omen that CC will sign with the Yankees and that the good vibes coming from MOST of the LuHud blog posters is a helpful factor, here you go:

  4. mel November 17th, 2008 at 12:26 pm

You mean you want us to know even more about each other? I already know that Brandon’s chica and her friends LOVE Lady Gaga.

    Nick,

What the heck was that Marin Co. stuff? I thought it was real news. Of which, there has been none. Even rumors are few and far between. The Yankees have officially killed free agency. No one’s going to make a move until the CC/Yankees thing resolves itself.

  5. SJ44 November 17th, 2008 at 12:30 pm

I’m too old for Facebook! lol

    I’ll just stay here.

    Nick,

From the previous thread, I’m glad you survive your recent tumult here.

You are far and away the funniest dude on this blog.

Don’t let the haters win! lol

  6. john November 17th, 2008 at 12:31 pm

Pete is on facebook. Very cool

  7. Nick in SF November 17th, 2008 at 12:31 pm

mel, if you can’t see the value in CC (potentially) watching Hal Holbrook perform ‘Mark Twain Tonight’, then I don’t think I can help.

It’s more important to feel it than it is to understand it.

  8. MooseCall November 17th, 2008 at 12:31 pm

Would it be better for the Yanks to sign Sabathia or, for the same money, sign any TWO pitchers from the following list: Burnett, Lowe, Lackey, Sheets, Penney? I think the Yanks would be better off with two pitchers from the list. Yanks wouldn’t be locking them into to an insane six-year deal, and the risk would be spread over two arms rather than one.

  9. Nick in SF November 17th, 2008 at 12:32 pm

    Thanks, SJ, no worries.

  10. Paco Dooley November 17th, 2008 at 12:32 pm

So does this mean that the Blog will move to facebook, or should I keep checking the LoHud website for postings? I’m not a facebook person…

  11. Warrior21 November 17th, 2008 at 12:34 pm

    Great idea Pete!!!

I tell any Yankee fan I come in contact with about this blog. Putting it on Facebook will really get you some more readers.

  12. mel November 17th, 2008 at 12:35 pm

And in other news, the Yankees removed Albaladejo, Matsui, Posada, and Wang from the 60-day DL. WhooHoo. :?

  13. pat November 17th, 2008 at 12:44 pm

Remember with exposure comes trolls. Good for your site views, bad for our viewing pleasure.

  14. SJ44 November 17th, 2008 at 12:45 pm

Lackey isn’t a FA. His option was picked up by the Angels. Penny and Sheets are huge injury risks.

So, you are left with what they have always intended to do. Or, at least try to do.

Sign CC and either AJ or Lowe.

This ain’t rocket science folks. No real need to be creative unless these guys turn down the Yankees.

Then, it becomes rocket science to try and fill the holes in the rotation.

  15. peterRABBIT November 17th, 2008 at 12:46 pm

We now have an infrastructure set up for us fans to come together. Woohoo!

Facebook is organized and stable as hell. Is it possible to integrate Facebook into the blog’s comments system? It would be great to keep track of everything we post!

  16. pat November 17th, 2008 at 12:46 pm

Doug Melvin says the Yankees overbid for CC. It’s only a matter of time until Hank says Melvin underbid and doesn’t appreciate the talent that is CC.

  17. The Mad Prince in Pinstripes November 17th, 2008 at 12:46 pm

Man, I wish the Free Agency period worked faster…so much anxiety/anticipation over what could/couldn’t happen.

I hope CC is serious about making a decision quickly, but I don’t think he will. I figure he takes at least through Thanksgiving to decide.

  18. Joey's Poodle November 17th, 2008 at 12:47 pm

Great that’s all that’s needed here — more dilution with people for whom baseball itself is not the key attraction…

  19. jennifer November 17th, 2008 at 12:48 pm

pat- that is why I am leary of adding facebook.

  20. The Mad Prince in Pinstripes November 17th, 2008 at 12:49 pm

    SJ44,

That is precisely why I hope CC accepts/declines sooner rather than later. It seems like the success of our whole offseason is contingent on whether or not that guy signs with us.

Maybe I am wrong, who knows.

  21. Bronx Jeers November 17th, 2008 at 12:51 pm

Does CC have a facebook page? Shall we invite him in?

  22. Mike Ashmore November 17th, 2008 at 12:51 pm

One would think that as a baseball writer myself, my homepage would be like Baseball America or ESPN or something like that.

    Nope.

    Facebook.

That’s probably more sad than it is surprising, but still…this is a great idea. It’s an interesting way to put faces to names, in some cases, as well.

  23. BBB (just say no to Peavy for Cano) November 17th, 2008 at 12:51 pm

About the whole “making a decision quickly” thing, does anyone think the Yankees will impose a deadline upon their offer and, if so, how much of one? Also, how much time does “quickly” cover? I guess it’s safe to assume a couple of weeks, although of course every time I check the blog today I will still be hoping to see “Sabathia signs with Yankees”.

  24. thisguy November 17th, 2008 at 12:59 pm

short term memories are what make for bad deals…

everyone seems to love AJ…probably because of the games he has pitched verse the yanks…

aj burnett is an injury risk and a headcase. In 2007 he said he was hurt, but every test showed no damage. He was also hurt in 2006. He has been hurt most of his career, just like Sheets. Shockingly, he is healthy in his contract year.

The difference is, Sheets is younger, better, and will be getting a cheaper, shorter contract.

I am not sure why the Yanks are willing to sign AJ, but not Sheets. To me it is a mistake. I rather have Lowe than AJ (assuming Lowe would get a 2 or 3 year deal and AJ would get a 4 or 5 year deal.)

To me, you sign CC, then try to sign Sheets or even Lowe, for 2 or 3 years. Sheets, when healthy, can be even better than CC, or at least on his level.

    AJ cannot.

  25. Christopher Barrows November 17th, 2008 at 12:59 pm

Good call on joining facebook. You’ll be able to get even more Yankee fans there(and a few haters, unfortunately).

  26. SJ44 November 17th, 2008 at 1:00 pm

The Yankees aren’t going to impose a deadline and he isn’t going to take all winter to decide.

When you are recruiting someone to work for you, the last thing you want to do is anything that turns him off.

CC’s rep is of a laid back guy who takes life as it comes. Pushing him to do something seems to be the worst strategy imaginable.

He hasn’t even had the offer for a week! Relax and let things play out.

    Its only November 17.

  27. William Buckner November 17th, 2008 at 1:00 pm

Looking at Penny, Pavano, Burnett, and even to a lesser extend Beckett, has an organization ever produced so many injury prone talent?

  28. SJ44 November 17th, 2008 at 1:04 pm

As far as the Facebook thing, I’m too old to figure out if its good or bad.

    The way I see it…..

Anything that encourages dummies to post stupid things on the blog isn’t a good thing.

Anything that encourages smarter and more interesting posts, I’m all for.

I’m not versed enough in Facebook to know where it fits in the above catagories.

I do wish though, we could have some kind of registration system in place prior to next season.

To watch the blogs comments page dip into Moron Central, particularly in the game threads (especially after school is in summer recess) is depressing.

One would hope that’s a situation that can get rectified prior to the 2009 season.

  29. S.A.-Looking forward to 2009. Show CC the money and stay away from Peavy! November 17th, 2008 at 1:07 pm

  31. William Buckner November 17th, 2008 at 1:12 pm

I don’t even bother after games start. I love points of view, even when it isn’t well thought out, but some people are just ridiculous to the point of venomous.

I think Madonna could easily break Kate Hudson in two. The material girl does have those scary arms.

  33. YANKS IN 2010 November 17th, 2008 at 1:18 pm

That is precisely why I hope CC accepts/declines sooner rather than later. It seems like the success of our whole offseason is contingent on whether or not that guy signs with us.

Maybe I am wrong, who knows.
    _______________________

Offseason, season, and the next five years all depend upon signing CC…that’s why he’s being “overbid”

  34. Brandon (TEIX IS NOT WORTH IT, GET CC !)..."Don't trade Robi !" November 17th, 2008 at 1:18 pm

Well Hudson is a pro at bed hopping so one would think she is prepared for these matters.

  35. Bronx Jeers November 17th, 2008 at 1:22 pm

I’m afraid this blog is as internet savvy as I get. Did Pete just sell us out or something? What changes exactly?

I can understand discussing the Yankees or sports with strangers but beyond that, I’m at a loss.

  36. jay destro November 17th, 2008 at 1:23 pm

i wonder where the process from here goes. i mean i know it’s only been 3 days, but 140 million is a lot of ziti.

  37. CB November 17th, 2008 at 1:23 pm

Sorry didn’t see the new thread:

“Break those run projections down for me. I don’t see how you get to 830 runs in 2009 on our current lineup unless you assume we get full years from all the old guys,”

SG at RLYB has started doing projections on the 2009 team.

I put up the link before. It’s pasted below as well. He has them projected to score 828 runs – and that’s with setting the bench at replacement level production. The bench may be bad but hopefully it’ll be better than replacment level.

The reason why it seems so strange for the team to lose Abreu and Giambi and still be projected to score more runs is because people are underestimating how devastating losing Posada and replacing him with Molina was last year and with how badly Cano hurt them last year.

  38. Nick in SF November 17th, 2008 at 1:24 pm

Maybe CC and HH can become Facebook buddies and then the deal can be double done.

And maybe CC and HH can star in a remake of “The Man With Two Heads” — imagine the comedic and dramatic possibilities.

CC isn’t dragging out the process so far, it’s only Monday morning!

  39. Ben November 17th, 2008 at 1:24 pm

I guess Alex isn’t so stupid after all,

  40. pat November 17th, 2008 at 1:26 pm

    Brandon

There aren’t enough gossip sites based in the US that you’ve started reading ones in India now?

  41. We need the big guy!! November 17th, 2008 at 1:26 pm

If CC is going to wait to see if the Angels or Dodgers are interested then this will most likely drag on until late Dec. or early Jan. Manny and Tex….Bora$ clients will most likely not be signing before then. If CC is really that against coming to NY then he might wait. Even though I don’t see either team shelling out that kind of money for him. Maybe we should send him a food platter from the Yankees fans?!

  42. AROD fan November 17th, 2008 at 1:30 pm

    SJ-

I really disagree with you re: registration/Moron Central.

My understanding is that this blog is supposed to be a fun, leisurely activity to partake in during recess (or during work/school for all those who work on computers).

It is not a professional journal refereed by Yankees experts!

I mean, if you can’t post your totally and utterly idiotic ideas about A-rod eating candy in the clubhouse here, then where in life are you supposed to do so?

I’m all for serious baseball posts, but I am against taking the fun out of being a fan by restricting this site to serious Yankees professional analysis.

Are you really Joe Girardi in real life?

    Bronx Jeers,
I here ya. I would have a hard time figuring out how to register. Can some of us get immunity?

  46. pat November 17th, 2008 at 1:34 pm

    Nick

Did you catch CC’s performance when he was in The Nutcracker with the Oakland Ballet in your neck of the woods?

A performance with HH would be a snap compared to performing with Barry Zito, Tony LaRussa and LeeAnn Tweeden in tights.

  47. The Mad Prince in Pinstripes November 17th, 2008 at 1:35 pm

Ya, imposing a deadline on CC is the worst thing we could try to do. That’s a one way ticket to NOT getting him.

SJ, I agree, we have to be patient, but I just wish our offseason plans weren’t so contingent on getting one person.

Who are we kidding? If we don’t get Sabathia, our rotation isn’t bad, but its not nearly as good as we’d have hoped.

  48. saucY November 17th, 2008 at 1:36 pm

Okay, folks. The 2008 Hawaii Winter Baseball Season is officially over.

My final entry with a quick (very quick) recap of the season:

    http://pink-pinstripes.blogspot.com/

  50. SJ44 November 17th, 2008 at 1:38 pm

the blog isn’t a therapists couch. It’s not for folks to say whatever pops into their heads. That’s not fun for anybody. It’s a place to hang and have fun.

The game threads aren’t fun. Go back and read some of them.

Pete doesn’t even want the place to turn into Moron Central.

There are plenty of folks in here who make the place fun. We just don’t want to make the place dumb.

    It’s a fairly simple request.

  51. Brandon (TEIX IS NOT WORTH IT, GET CC !)..."Don't trade Robi !" November 17th, 2008 at 1:39 pm

question ? does anybody care about that illegal lob that Fatboy is chirping about ?

    I’m with SJ on this

  53. S.o.S.(first 11-10 nfl score in history.) November 17th, 2008 at 1:40 pm

“I’m all for serious baseball posts, but I am against taking the fun out of being a fan by restricting this site to serious Yankees professional analysis.”

Some of us would have nothing more to add. What would happen to 80′s cartoon discussions? Best actors? Player you would want to invite to dinner? Best all time qb’s.Parachute pants? Garbage pail kids discussions. Without all those topics. I can only describe it being in one word. Boring.

  54. Ben November 17th, 2008 at 1:40 pm

Brandon what are you talking about?

  55. S.A.-Looking forward to 2009. Show CC the money and stay away from Peavy! November 17th, 2008 at 1:40 pm

Francesa sounds so angry discussing the refs in Steelers/Chargers game. Did he have money on the game?

  56. Doreen November 17th, 2008 at 1:40 pm

Rick Dempsey, who is an announcer for the Orioles, was on XM’s baseball station late this morning talking about what the Orioles need to do.

He said they should make a serious bid for CC, AJ, Derek Lowe and Teixeira. He was especially making cases for AJ and Teixeira because they are local boys, which would perhaps attract back some of the fans who have been staying away, lo, these 11 or so years since they’ve contended. Oh, and they need a shortstop, perhaps a trade for Furcal. But he was adamant that Baltimore MUST get seriously involved and spend serious money in the FA market if they ever want to compete with the Yankees and Red Sox.

    So?

So. I’m still not convinced CC is going to sign here. None, and I mean none, of the other pitchers available (or semi-available like Peavy) come without one issue or another. There are no perfect pitchers out there. Even the top of the crop leaves you with your fingers crossed. It wouldn’t matter so much except that these guys all want long or long-ish term deals. Darned if you do, and darned if you don’t, I guess.

  57. Brandon (TEIX IS NOT WORTH IT, GET CC !)..."Don't trade Robi !" November 17th, 2008 at 1:42 pm

“Francesa sounds so angry discussing the refs in Steelers/Chargers game. Did he have money on the game?”

That’s what I’m thinking it must have been big money too.

  59. The Mad Prince in Pinstripes November 17th, 2008 at 1:43 pm

    SoS,

I think that the Facebook gig, more than anything, is to expand the blog’s name. It won’t change where everyone should be going to post comments…I hope all of you guys keep posting here because Facebook would open up all kinds of bad issues with trolls and the likes.

But as far as getting the name out there, I can’t hold that against Peter. His hard work deserves credit.

  60. S.A.-Looking forward to 2009. Show CC the money and stay away from Peavy! November 17th, 2008 at 1:44 pm

I agree with SJ44. I remember those game threads. It was crazyville. Don’t even get me started on those games we lost.

Also, let’s not forget the freak impersonators of some posters from this blog.

  61. S.A.-Looking forward to 2009. Show CC the money and stay away from Peavy! November 17th, 2008 at 1:44 pm

  62. Wolf In Pinstripes November 17th, 2008 at 1:45 pm

I’m digging the Facebook move. It allows people here to be able to network and keep in touch outside of the blog. I for one appreciate the decision, Pete.

  63. mel November 17th, 2008 at 1:45 pm

    Doreen,

I can’t believe that the Orioles could pursue most of those guys.

They may have to do it the old-fashion way. They’ve got some great prospects on the way.

BTW, why does everyone insist that AJ is a Maryland local? I know he lives there, but his wife is the one with roots.

  64. S.o.S.(first 11-10 nfl score in history.) November 17th, 2008 at 1:46 pm

“Ya, imposing a deadline on CC is the worst thing we could try to do. That’s a one way ticket to NOT getting him.”

Threats seemed to work last year with Arod. We are paying him the highest amount in history. No one is going to top us with a dollar figure. We went all in right from the start. Time to crap or get off the pot. Either he really wants to play in the n.l./the west coast or he is just doing it to drive up the price.

  65. Fredo Corleone November 17th, 2008 at 1:46 pm

“That’s what I’m thinking it must have been big money too.”

Cost me $75. I was steamed. Of course, the Steelers sould have salted it away well in advance of that play.

  66. Ed - sign CC immediately November 17th, 2008 at 1:46 pm

    SA,

    oh okay…

  67. Fredo Corleone November 17th, 2008 at 1:48 pm

“Threats seemed to work last year with Arod.”

    What threats were those?

  68. Doreen November 17th, 2008 at 1:48 pm

I’m on Facebook. Mostly to keep loose tabs on my daughter. But I’m there. :)

SJ44 is right about the game threads. They deteriorate rather quickly if the Yankees are losing. And it’s difficult if not impossible to introduce any real discussion (about the game) – it’s mostly griping. And SA’s right. The imposters were cruel and crude. Not worth the experience.

  69. The Mad Prince in Pinstripes November 17th, 2008 at 1:50 pm

    SoS,

There is no question the Yankees would have bidded highest for A-Rod or for CC. Not the point. A-Rod was going for the bucks, I’m not sure CC cares as much. He’s not the same creature as A-Rod…I don’t think many players are in terms of their psychology.

CC needs to be given reasonable time without pressure. The Yankees can simply withdraw their offer w/o imposing a deadline, but I think we all know they won’t do that.

  70. S.o.S.(first 11-10 nfl score in history.) November 17th, 2008 at 1:53 pm

“Also, let’s not forget the freak impersonators of some posters from this blog.”

Yes how can we forget the impersonators who put some of you in the B.O.F.(blog of fame. Needed to be impersonated at least 3x i believe to qualify). Of coarse i didnt make that list.
The daytime games didnt seem to have much problems with trolls though.

    Thanks for the explanation T.M.P.I.P.

  71. Doreen November 17th, 2008 at 1:54 pm

    mel -

I don’t see it happening, either, but Dempsey’s not a team official, just an interested connected party, and of course wants the team to field a competitor.

He did talk about a catching prospect that they absolutely love who probably won’t be up until next season.

As far as AJ having Baltimore ties, well, I guess a wife’s family counts, too. And, when you want to forge a relationship, anything helps, right?

  72. Nick in SF November 17th, 2008 at 1:54 pm

Pat, I don’t think I’ve ever made it through a performance of the Nutcracker without falling asleep. But I can’t blame CC for that.

I might be missing something, but I think the Facebook group affords an opportunity for LoHuders to interact away from this blog but it (hopefully) shouldn’t have any effect on what happens here.

  73. S.o.S.(first 11-10 nfl score in history.) November 17th, 2008 at 1:55 pm

    Fredo,
If he opts out we will not pursue him. I think Hank made those statements.

  74. Doreen November 17th, 2008 at 1:56 pm

Has any other free agent other than CC been made an offer? I haven’t heard anything.

    Is EVERYONE waiting for CC?

Boy, talk about being in the cat-bird seat.

  75. Bronx Jeers November 17th, 2008 at 1:57 pm

I’ve always had the loss of Giambi/Abreu of being 200 RBI’s the Yanks need to find elsewhere.

I gave the value of a healthy Matsui/Posada at roughly +100 rbi’s as last year they combined for 45/22(67) so I would hope they could do something like 90/70 (160)

Swisher could add 70 and hopefully a healthier Jeter-ARod-Damon and an improved Cano make up the rest.

Nady has me somewhat confused although I hope for a contract year surge.

I think I’m being conservative as well.

Besides the game seems to be undergoing a period of “climate change” as PED’s and speed get put to pasture. The “retro” version of baseball seems to be making a comeback. Lets hope it becomes permanent.

  76. ariel November 17th, 2008 at 2:00 pm

CC will make his decision when all the facts (offers) are in. If he is pressured, it will be a turn off. Unlike most others, he has not shown a propensity to “follow the money” and if the Yankees do not respect his value structure, they will definitely lose him . If he indeed wants to play and live in southern California, he will wait and see if either the Dodgers and/or Angels will be making offers.

The Dodgers reportedly have told his agent that they are “interested”, but as one might expect from such a second rate organization they have not yet made an offer, if they ever will.

The Angels are between a rock and a hard place since their first priority is Teix, and they and we know how Boras is playing it. Perhaps at some point CC will set a deadline for these other teams to step up to the line…but I don’t suspect that will have very quickly. Why should he? What will he gain from accelerating the process by a month or so?

    Bronx Jeers,

I agree, it will interesting to see what Nady puts up.

If nothing else, he should be solid in RF and he looked pretty good for us last season.

    ****will happen very quickly****

    ariel,

Good points, except I’m not sure I’d call the Dodgers a second rate organization.

They do pretty well for themselves by and large, but as far as Free Agents and trades go, aren’t they usually a little tighter than other teams in the same market?

I would never wanna belong to any club that would have someone like me for a member.

Yeah, their owner’s wealth (or lack there-of) has been a topic of discussion since he took over the team. Yet they’re wasting 36 mill on Andruw Jones?!

Ya know, it occurred to me…a lot of people are going to cuss, make up false stories, and go nuts on Facebook…Peter, are you able to control that short of booting them from your friend list? I guess you could delete their comments too, but you may have opened Pandora’s box with this…

  84. The Mad Prince in Pinstripes November 17th, 2008 at 2:13 pm

    vin,

Ya, that was a terrible mistake.

  85. vin November 17th, 2008 at 2:15 pm

I think this blog is going to get even bigger due to the facebook group… but I agree, it will be like opening Pandora’s box. The good thing is, the content control on here is what matters b/c of the newspaper connection. I think Pete would be best served to limit the facebook group to nothing more than a means of drawing people here.

The Jones signing was SO bad. But you know what? The Casey Blake acquisition completely turned that team around. He was great for them. Blake Dewitt started the year at 3rd, had some success, then fizzled, and everyone else there couldn’t get the job done. Once Ned Colletti got Blake the whole lineup coalesced. I’m a big fan of Colletti, and now Blake.

    Mad Prince,

They really aren’t second rate, but McCourt’s agenda and attitude toward the fans and LA is. His purpose in buying the team via a bootstrap acquisition was to eventually devote the Chavez Ravine property to its highest and best use, commercial real estate development. All he really wants to do is “hold the fort” until the time is right to do so and then attempt to hold the city hostage to find another situs for a new stadium (which will not happen given the City and County’s pressing financial needs that increase exponentially each year…as the NFL well knows).

He and his wife enjoy basking in the glory of owning the team, though IMO, and the opinion of probably the majority (certainly of the local press) his management decisions leave a lot to be desired, most unlike the O’Malleys who were first class operationally. I should add that I have been a resident of LA for quite awhile, but when it comes to the Yankees, I have always remained true to my NYC roots.

“I might be missing something, but I think the Facebook group affords an opportunity for LoHuders to interact away from this blog but it (hopefully) shouldn’t have any effect on what happens here.”

That’s the point I was making. There are people here that I like and was fortunate to get to know a little better at Club Bronx (which will be revamped and relaunched during the holidays for anyone that is curious)and I enjoy being able to say hi to where it won’t be stuck in a sea of comments on the blog.

As for the effect on the blog itself, trolls are already aware of LoHud, since it is a huge Yankee site. I can’t see it changing things here dramatically. Since Facebook is not a part of the paper, Pete could always assign group moderators to help him weed out any garbage posted there. That would be my suggestion, anyway.

Jones was a horrible mistake, obviously, but chalk up another for Boras. He talked both Colletti and McCourt into accepting the notion that 07 was simply an off-year and that in a new environment Aundrew would revert back to the hitter he had been in his glory years. McCourt was burned, as the Dodgers have been by Boras over the years, perhaps explaining why they will not do the Manny deal when all is said and done.

  90. The Mad Prince in Pinstripes November 17th, 2008 at 2:35 pm

    ariel,

I had not known that about McCourt’s intention to move the dodgers to another location. Nice call. he’s got a point about the property value, but its a lot of fun to watch games up there…i’ve been to a couple.

Where the heck are they going to be relocated to? Oh, let me guess, they’ll become the Los Angeles Dodgers of Malibu, huh? :)

  91. The Cro November 17th, 2008 at 4:54 pm

I believe Frank McCourt was looking at some space near Downtown LA – by the Staples Center & the Convention Center – that would help create a Sports & Entertainment “destination” year ’round.
