Yes, every Yankee fan with a pulse wants the Yankees to use a portion of their league leading (and now luxury tax exempt) revenues to sign Mark Texeira AND CC Sabathia. They can afford it with no problem, and as such, should put their money to work for them. However, there is no reason to believe he will not be expensive. Oh and the Yankees COULD obtain any player in trade for a price. But in Pete's world he's the smartest sports guy on the planet and even a contrary thought draws his ire and rebuke. No. The only reason Rivera switched to the pen was because he couldn't mix enough pitches to be successful in facing the lineup multiple times. Chamberlain has proven at every level now that he can do just that. Using Joba Chamberlain as a reliever is not a forward thinking or good long term strategy for the Yankees.
