Enjoy your vacation.

And one night at the casino wouldn't be bad, just don't throw it all into slots.

" If my 401-K wasn’t reduced to 17 cents, I might have gone to play blackjack."

"Please do not discuss politics here. I want this to be for baseball only, although I certainly understand if other sports get in the conversation."
-------------------------------
isn't complaining( even jokingly) about the value of a 401k that is deteriorating as we speak bordering on the political? isn't the 401k a political creation? isn't the attempt to solve the deterioration of the 401k being done by politicians?

baseball does not exist in a vacuum. i understand not talking about controversial political subjects unrelated to baseball( though i often find the digressions interesting), ,but not talking about the financial crisis and money when baseball is very much a big business that is a combination of main street and wall street makes little sense to me.

for instance, what if this financial crisis deepens seriously and corporations don't have the money to pay for the luxury boxes they have agreed to buy? what if john henry has only 25% of his money left? that wouldn't affect the red sox? what if the yankees sign sabathia to a 6 year 25 million dollar contract and there is deflation in the general economy that makes 25 million in 2015 an albatross around the yankees neck? what if fans don't have the $100 it often takes to go to one game?

to me this blog would be broadened( and it's IQ raised) if political issues that are related to the game and business of baseball were freely discussed.

if this blog were in 1949, should we not talk about civil rights and jackie robinson? baseball is often a leader of the culture in changing the society we live in. it reflects the times we are in. to stick our heads in the sand and act as if baseball were only an escapist activity that has no connection to the real world seems to only dumb down the discussion of the game.

last winter many of us were glued to the clemens congressional hearings chaired by waxman. many on the blog who had long time legal experience explained the proceedings to the rest of us. i for one appreciated the input from these people.

when i watched waxman and his committee do the same grilling of hedge fund billionaires last week, i thought back to the clemens hearings and realized i knew how the process worked and it was from blog discussions.

i think that the blog would do itself a disservice if it stuck strictly to only the game of baseball. i personally can't take the game as seriously in times like this. i realize it's a judgement call on how far to go, but no discussion at all of the economic and political problems of the world we live in seems rather extreme and limiting. as i said, baseball does not exist in a vacuum.

Being at a Cav's game looks like C.C. is working his way east to sign his plump Thanksgiving contract.
Let's see here . . . a Wednesday press conference at the Stadium and a return flight to the west coast in time for a turkey dinner on Thursday sounds about right.

Pete and all you Yankee Fans out there:

Best wishes this holiday to all.

In the "worst case" scenario, if Sabathia goes to a team on West coast, Burnett stays in Toronto or goes to Baltimore, Lowe resigns with Boston, assume we resign Pettitte, if we're still going to target 2 more starting FA pitchers, who would you pick of Perez, Sheets, Wolf, others?

In regards to position players, if Teixeira signs with Boston, which FA bat of the following should the Yankees target: Ramirez, Furcal, Dunn, Bradley, Burrell, Hudson, Abreu, others?

If we "whiff" on our FA pitchers, and decide to trade Hughes, what starting pitchers could be used as part of a trade,to obtain starting pitching?

Thoughts?

No real evidence that CC is coming to NY. Just some good old speculation and dreaming.

I hear Stephon M. is picking CC up from the airport and from there, they are gonna get matching tattoos on their head. Pass it on.

Is there any evidence that CC is coming to NY to see the cavs/knicks game outside of CC being at the cavs game tonight and CC and lebron being friends? Because some of this sounds like a bit of a stretch
