"Both voice activated, cool part about the Google one? You only press one button and then put the phone up to your ear and say “Lohud Yankees Blog” and it brings you right to the link."

Unless you say it anything other than an American accent, that is. T

hen it sends you to the Lower Half Spankings Blog, or something equally useless and graphic. :)

mel,

I can buy that. Raising the farmhands is a great idea.

I will say, however, that in NY, a blend of the two is ideal. What I mean is, I think the Yankees should hold on to Joba (duh) and not yet give up on Hughes, but take a guy like Kennedy and package him for another need while bringing back Pettitte and signing CC (if possible).

Cano’s deal is equally as good. The only difference is, in reality, I’m comparing the stats of two players who in several categories are close, and in some, aren’t on the same planet. You’re asking us to project what will happen to Pedroia in his third year (when Cano fell off the earth, was benched, and magically changed his stance and played well for three weeks to make us forget about the first five months of crap),

-----------------------------------------------------------

In Cano's third year, he hit .303 with 19 homers and 97 RBI.
This was his 4th year. As far a 3 weeks ofhitting and 5 months of crap, perhaps you'd better look again. After 1 May, he hit .300. Only april pulled his numbers down. The 5 months also includes a 3 week period in august when he had a hand injury...a deep bone bruise to the base of his thumb on the right hand. That cost him a lot more on his numbers.

After two years, it's a little difficult to swallow when somebody calls Pedroia or any other player "great". How about giving him and Cano time before hanging the "great and crap" tags on them?

Pedroia's deal is one of the 4 biggest non-arbitration contracts given (Hanley, David Wright and Ryan Braun got the others)

Here's the deal:

2009 $1.5 million
2010 $3.5 million
2011 $5.5 million
2012 $8 million
2013 $10 million
2014 $10 million
2015 $11 million option that becomes $13 million with another MVP win.

Blog raises the question of what the Sox do now with Papelbon and Youkilis who are both arbitration eligible.
