Yankees welcome new pitchers today

The Yankees will welcome CC Sabathia and A.J. Burnett into the fold at 1 p.m. today at Yankee Stadium.

I will not be there, however. I’m headed out of town on vacation through the end of the year. Esteemed Journal News columnist (and former Daily News Yankees beat writer) Sam Borden will be covering the press conference and will send me some notes later on.

Thanks to the new iPhone, I’ll be able to update the blog while I’m roaming around visiting my family. But the priority is to get some rest and relaxation in before spring training.

So check back later for a report from Sam.

If you’re a fan of the Giants or the Jets, go to LoHud.comtoday at noon for a live video chat with the beat writers from The Journal News.

Here are some good questions you can ask:

1. Why did the Jets get so many Pro Bowlers?

2. How will the Jets feel when Chad Pennington knocks them out of the playoffs?

3. How funny is it that the Patriots’ backup quarterback has had a better season than Brett Favre?

It’s only in NYC (Lincoln Plaza and Sunshine Cinemas) and Los Angeles at the moment; but when you can, go see The Wrestler, the new Darren Aronofsky film. Mickey Rourke is better than he ever has been before and the soundtrack features a great new song by Bruce Springsteen.

The Times has a review from A.O. Scott.

Rourke could get nominated for an Oscar and Bruce surely will for the song. It’s on iTunes if you want to get it.
