It’s much too early for the Yankees to indicate that there is any real interest in Manny since to do so would play right into Boras’ hands. Thus what has been mentioned as to a deal is “poppycock”.

We’ll see much of the same (nothing, other than proclamations from assorted Yankee brass as to how great a hitter Manny is) as the weeks pass with nary a team showing an interest. Then, when Manny and Boras really are left with little or no options, the Yankees will make their move….on their terms.

Unless, of course, there is some tacit “understanding” between the parties along the lines of a “quid pro quo” with the Yankees already having done much of what has been asked. I’ll leave to your imagination what that could be.
