Why did I omit Rivera and Joba? Because my point was not that the entire Yankees bullpen was bad LAST year or will be bad THIS year...but that Rivera's HELP this year isn't as great as people think. Pretty simple stuff if you just read. People said how great the Yanks bullpen was last year, and I made the point that Rivera and Joba carried those bullpen numbers, and without them, they were a well-below-average bullpen. Again, not talking about the Yanks bullpen as a whole....merely pointing out that Rivera's support is shaky going into this season.

I'm not the one that claimed the Yankees bullpen was a strength last season. I brought up the bullpen's ERA sans Rivera and Joba to show that they carried the bullpen. Again, never said the Yankees had a bad bullpen at any point anywhere....just that Rivera's support is shaky for this season.

Why did I bring up the list of players that didn't do as well in their first season as a Yankee? Not to suggest CC, AJ, or Teixeira were going to be horrible, but that historically, guys don't play AS WELL as they did the previous year...even if they had decent years. And I take it you conveniently skipped the sentence about how "I won’t put too much emphasis on Matsui because no one could really tell how well he was going to do coming over from Japan." I just want to know where I said I or anybody else was expecting him to hit 50 homers? I posted the statistic for consistency to show what they did the year before and as a Yankee.

And with evidence like that for the existence of god, it's no wonder you're unable to comprehend anything anyone writes.

Read that “10 reason the Yankees…” article closely. It says there is no bullpen help to set up Rivera and that Joba is gone. Remove Rivera and Joba from last year’s bullpen and the Yankees turn into one of baseball’s worst bullpens (ranking 24th in the league with a 4.29 ERA).

------------------------------------------------------------

Ignoring the rest of that laughable list...let's look at what you said about the bullpen...you said remove Rivera (Chamberlain's in the rotation)...why are you removing Rivera? Does he not exist? You pointed out everyone's numbers as to why they'll be as bad next year...how about removing Hawkins, Ohlendorff, Britton, Patterson, Robertson, and Igawa? They're not on the team in 2009.

What does your crystal ball say about the lotto numbers for this week? Face it...you're a clown....this reads like your other views...pure BS. It was good for a laugh, though. Especially the part about the list of players that starts out with "they all had worse years after joining the Yanks", and then say...well, they had good years, but...and then you add Matsui? Were you stupid enough to think he was going to hit 50 homers? Look at his numbers, dimwit?

And your other articles were even worse, as you try explaining the non-existance of a higher being....You're living proof that there is....Everybody knows that God loves a fool and idiot. God is the only reason a fool like you can actually survive.

trisha - CC and AJ and Sheets - OH MY!
January 1st, 2009 at 9:58 pm
Ed – actually it didn’t suck at all. The part that did was his annoying two-year-old behavior of continuing to call back every time I hung up the phone – which is why I took it off the hook! I had my priorities in order and was totally focused on the game. There was nothing that couldn’t wait until the game was over! He he he.

YankeeRay – okay, I prefer classical music to Bruce but believe in giving someone a very wide berth, which means that you can listen to Bruce til you’re blue in the face and won’t hear a peep out of me!

Brian, I was referring to the entire Yankee experience as the partheon, not specifically the edifice!

--------

Okay Trish I'm all in.

LOVE kauffman stadium! i saw the yankees play there every year.
———Saw a Raider / Chief MNG game at Arrowhead with Stabler and Bilitnekoff. That was also a nice venue, that whole complex was sweet.
——————————————————————————————
There are 3 reasons that Kenny Stabler is in the NFL HOF….Freddie Bilitnekoff. Cliff Branch and Dave Casper.

Gb, Stablers not in the HOF

"4. Bullpen
The Yankees have no bullpen help to set up Mariano Rivera. Joba Chamberlain is set to join the rotation next season, which leaves a gaping hole in their eighth inning plans. Yankees.com lists Damaso Marte, Brian Bruney, Jonathan Albaladejo and Jose Veras in their bullpen as of now, and they wouldn’t scare too many little leaguers at this point."

That must be a joke. I stopped reading at this point. The bullpen was our greatest strength last season.

97 pitches for Larsen's perfect game. That's about 3.6 pitches per batter, wow.
