GB, I too was surprised that Brandon was ommitted..They were in agreement with us about Austine’s footwork…I haven’t seen him play since HS, but I always thought that was going to be an issue with him…He has poor footwork behind the plate, but his arm was outstanding at the prep level…..And to think they say us old farts are out of touch….

In terms of radio I don’t listen to much sports stuff outside of 1050 and WFAN, but dave you’re right that there’s almost never a dissenting voice among the media. I think the only person to step out of the box today was Max Kellerman, who was willing to point out that the media was just as much at fault as all other members involved for shamelessly *juicing* this thing for everything it’s worth. He also said that the listeners have accountability too because if they weren’t so enthralled by the subject the media wouldn’t flock to it (which is true as well). Max is crazy but I (and many other people who listen to 1050) do appreciate his willingness to not be a drone.

Thanks, Tarheel and Pat M. I guess my feelings about Romine and Montero weren’t too far off. I was surprised not to see closer Jonathan Ortiz and 1B Brandon Laird listed.

Pete, Do you think this situation is too much for Girardi to handle? Even though I hate to admit it, we all saw how Joe G struggled with the media last year. Can he keep the team focused through the circus that will ensue?

GB7, There was a posting about ten minutes ago regarding the Yanks top 20 or farmhands….They finally get to Austine Romaine….Take a quick peak about what they say about his catching evaluations and his footwork…..

That is nice to hear. I kind of picked up on a little of that too. The media thinks they have the power to brainwash the public. They may have that power but the educated section of the public is not so easily brainwashed. Its surprising how unified the media has been in their position though – every single one of them seem to be taking the same hardline on everything from arod to selena to the 100 person list. Its rare to hear a dissenting opinion among the microphones.

settle down buddy. That was a Yahoo sports headline not mine. I agree it was a crime. We can only hope that they subpoena her, and if she doesn’t answer, hold her in contempt. I actualy might gain a little (very little) respect for her if she did that.
