Hey, it’s baseball

Peter Abraham
February

Lots of Yankees here at the minor-league complex. Jeter, Posada, Swisher, Wang, Joba, Hughes and Gardner.

Wang threw off the mound yesterday and said his foot felt fine. He and Mrs. Wang are expecting a boy.

    Pete-
Nice job on First Take! We need to rally behind A-Rod because this is the year of 27!

    Go Yanks!

  3. Phil

    Awesome. Is Swish clean shaven?

  4. Vincent

Girardi woke up early only to find Jeter already having breakfast for everyone on the table and in full uniform.

Never have I thought I would look forward to folks on here hyperventilating over ST stats.

Now, I can’t wait to read posts from folks arguing about how (fill in the blank) is going to have a bad year because he isn’t hitting in ST.

Beats the hell out of talking about PED’s.

    Congrats to the Wangs!

And a note to the third base coach, during interleague play, CMW goes base to base only. No taking two bases.

Ahh….Spring is in the air. Did anything good happen this offseason?? I can’t recall ;)

  14. Ed

My son and I will be in Tampa over the weekend to see the pitchers and catchers work out. Will it be possible to watch the position players work out at the minor league facility and if so what is best time to go there?

  15. S.A.-The 2009 MLB season is almost here

A boy! Congrats to Wang and his wife. :D

Hey Pete, the minor league complex is off limits for fans right? I think I can recall only being able to stand in the outfield, behind the outfield walls (where you couldn’t see a thing unless you stood on your car. Has it changed?

And AJ too, just by principle.

  19. Paul

Vincent what did Jeter and boys have for breakfast?

  20. Vincent

    27 Eggs and soem bacon.

  21. ALB3

And CC will stay on first.

  22. murphydog

Ah, the first true sign of spring, a bunch of rich guys standing around the batting cage.

  23. Brad

Good to see Swisher arriving early to get better acquainted with his new teammates. It can’t hurt to do so.

  24. Dan

Hey its Gardner! I know that dome anywhere.

Here’s to the G-man getting the CF nod.
