Wang is ready to get going
How about some baseball?
When I walked into the complex this morning, the first two guys I saw were Chien-Ming Wang and Phil Hughes.
The Wanger looked good. He got to Arizona in mid January and worked out for several weeks with a trainer before coming here. He has thrown off the mound twice and will again tomorrow.
Wang said his foot has totally healed and he is ready to go. I asked him about the Yankees adding CC Sabathia and A.J. Burnett.
“Great for us,” he said. “We have a good rotation. I was glad.”
Wang has long resisted the idea of being considered the ace of the staff. Part of it is his personality, part of it is cultural. He defers to older players and always has. The guy is a competitor on the mound but quiet off it. Look for him to have a big year as he tries to make up for missing so much time. He also was relieved not to face another arbitration hearing.
Hughes has been in Tampa for a while as well. It speaks well of him that he showed up early knowing it’s a long-shot that he makes the team.
Dave Eiland and Rob Thomson were there with the players. Those two guys get after it. Also saw scouting director Damon Oppenheimer, who was watching workouts.

Chad Jennings
Sam Borden
Josh Thomson

Yeah, can’t wait to see Wang pitch again!
Hope Hughes can stay on the mound this year. He does that, he will definitely contribute to the major league club at some point.
I can’t believe Kay and Don were giving Andy more credit in his admission. Andy read from a piece of paper that was written for him by his lawyers!! Yes Alex was obviously told what he could and could not say, what line he couldn’t cross, but he didn’t do it from a piece of paper!
For the first time in too many years we have a “big three” at the top of the rotation.
Pete -
Any idea who the minor league guy standing next to Jeter is in this pic?
http://yankees.lhblogs.com/fil.....e639a.jpeg
As a Wilkes-Barre/Scranton native, it’s good to hear Hughes is working hard. I look forward to seeing him pitcher this year.
All Hughes has to do is progress in his development.
The opportunity will be there for him this season.
If he shows the progress he needs to show and earns the starts, he’ll be taking over Andy’s spot next year.
Wang is a great player him missing for half the year makes me forget how good our rotation can be this year.
Man I missed Wang last year.
I think Hughes will make a significant contribution to the big club this year. It seems we always go about 7-8 deep in terms of starting pitchers. If Phil can get his secondary stuff working and consolidate what from the reports appear to be gains in velocity and effectiveness in AZ (and of course stay healthy) it would be tremendous.
I also think a dark horse to help in NY is Alan Horne. He is recovering from surgery but is throwing again. He has great stuff – again issue is health.
Wow, this post just restored my excitement for the season.
Also, and I think someone posted this on other thread(s), but PECOTA puts the Yankees at 97 wins this year, second best projected record to Boston’s 98 wins. Nate Silver isn’t usually off by much with these types of things (see: FiveThirtyEight, 2008 election), so that should give Yankees fans hope for ‘09 in the wake of a pretty brutal few weeks.
Link for any of those interested in the full list:
http://tinyurl.com/c9ghhd
The first question the media should ask Girardi is what slot does he see the Wanger in. I’d put him second behind CC and let AJ follow.
Bill Madden: “The Yankees have no farm system”?
Any idea where he said this? Francesa’s show?
Here’s a tip Bill….
Try watching some Yankee minor league games and be able to name 5 kids in the system before you talk about something you know nothing about.
You were also one of the “experts” who declared that Craig Hansen was going to decide the 2005 pennant race after he was drafted by the Red Sox.
You KILLED the Yankees for not taking a player who was “going to decide the 2005 race”.
How did that prediction work for ‘ya?
If I want to listen/read nonsense from bitter old men, I will hang out at my local bagel shop.
When I listen/read sportswriters, I want them to have at least a working knowledge of the subject matter they write/talk about.
I don’t expect them to be experts on every bit of minutue re: the Yankees. I do expect them to have some knowledge of the farm system though and Madden has none.
Which is why he should just keep hanging outside Hank and Hal’s offices to see if they will let him talk to George again.
It was the only use he had as a sportswriter for years. He had direct access to George. These days, he has no access to anybody of power with the Yankees which is why he comes across as a bitter old man.
PECOTA’s out?
Now I know we’re getting close.
Madden was probably on Francesa’s show. He is to be on with Kay in the 3pm hour(I believe)
“Dave Eiland and Rob Thomson were there with the players. Those two guys get after it.”
What exactly does this mean?
SA,
That’s great. We get the “joy” of listening to his bitter ramblings. What entertaiment!
SJ
It was on Francessa during a rant about how Cashman wanted to build the team through the farm but overestimated the farm he had.
“entertainment”. Would be nice if I could spell.
That’s great. We get the “joy” of listening to his bitter ramblings. What entertaiment!
=======================
Hahahaha
Get a barf bag ready
Geez, now Kay is on the “what do we tell the children” kick?
Why is that so complicated?
You tell your kids there are ramifications for EVERYTHING you do. Even Alex Rodriquez can’t buy his way out of being shamed.
If anything, its a GREAT lesson for kids. They get to see what happens when you do something wrong.
God, I hate when the media goes into morality mode. Makes me nuts.
I think that the quotes from Wang sounded pretty phony. He didn’t seem very honest about having the NYY signing two starters that might be better than him and certainly being paid more. I’ll never have respect for such a phony again. Wang, why not just come out and admit that you’re jealous?
Bill Madden should get a dollar anytime any of the other reporters writes something dumb. He’d make a fortune off of Ian O’Connor and some of the others.
btw, I think Phil Hughes spent a big part of his offseason at a high performance training center down in San Diego.
PECOTA has us getting 97 wins but still finishing second behind the sux. However it does say we allow the least runs in baseball.
Madden was on with Francesa. They are perfect for one another because they both are negative and nothing is good enough for either of them. I want to see them or anyone go threw what Arod went threw then have to go on tv be extremely nervous and have to talk about it…and not say something 100% perfect. Francesa sounds like such a cry baby, who thinks he is perfect.
Oh Bill Madden, remember when you wanted the Yankees’ team to look like this for 2009?:
http://tinyurl.com/ce7mef
Yes, a grand total of ZERO of those acquisitions were made this offseason. So, Bill Madden: completely understands what’s going on with the Yankees, seriously, he swears!
rodg12, I think that’s Nady
Wang is going to lead the Yankees with 21 wins this year. You will be able to see Teixeira’s impact on defense with Wang more than any other pitcher. I also think Cano is going to have his best year at 2nd base playing next to Teixeira.
Yay for Wang!
I never get why so many people are down on him. (Well, I do I guess, it’s because he isn’t a strikeout guy, and shallow folks like fireworks.)
He’s a great pitcher, and a great guy, and I really hope he wins 20 games this year. He can, and he will sooner rather than later.
SJ, has anybody said when these urine tests were taken in 2003? Spring training…mid-season?
“I think that the quotes from Wang sounded pretty phony. He didn’t seem very honest about having the NYY signing two starters that might be better than him and certainly being paid more. I’ll never have respect for such a phony again. Wang, why not just come out and admit that you’re jealous?”
Are you serious GB? Its not part of Asian culture to show jealousy of your teammates and its also not Wanger’s personality. Secondly he cannot speak english and this quote was likely rendered through a translator.
“You KILLED the Yankees for not taking a player who was “going to decide the 2005 race”.
How did that prediction work for ‘ya?”
In fairness, it went about as well as Cashman’s guess on Carl Henry, 9 picks prior to Hansen did.
Draft hindsight, like all others, is always 20/20. Cashman knows a lot more about this than Madden, yet I’m not prepared to kill him for leaving Ellsbury, Matt Garza, Joey Devine and Colby Rasmus on the table when Henry’s name was called.
can’t wait. I hope wang gets off to as good of a start as last season.
Might be Brandon, but Pete didn’t mention him being there which led me to believe it was a minor leaguer. I just went back to the thread the pic is on. Someone there suggested Colin Curtis. Maybe it’s him???
SJ44 -
I agree. It’s a great teaching opportunity. It’s just another layer of parenting.
I don’t think there’s anyone that follows baseball that thinks Bill Madden knows what he’s talking about. It’s like the Daily News pays him to be a Howard Stern shock reporter but didn’t ever tell him. It would be OK if he wrote all these articles just to stir up conversation, but I really think he believes all the dumb stuff he says and writes.
How much do you think a guy like him gets paid? With so many people getting fired in America, how does someone like this have a job?
can everybody just please leave ‘the children’ out of this. your kid isnt going to decide whether or not to use drugs because of what arod did.
and after, what 5 years in ny, arod probably cant find his boyhood home without his garmin.
GB,
Good point. I think somebody should have asked him about whether or not he takes any chinese herbs. ‘Ya know, that stuff can do crazy things to you.
He wasn’t open and honest about how he rehabbed his foot. I would expect more honesty from him.
Did he ever ask Arod or Andy Pettitte for workout advice?
I don’t know, not enough hard hitting questions. I think the media is allowing Wang to skate without being open and honest.
For those who needed the disclaimer: I am being sarcastic.
I love how some nitwit reads Wang’s quotes and decides he’s a phony. Never mind that I was standing there and know the guy very well.
“In fairness, it went about as well as Cashman’s guess on Carl Henry, 9 picks prior to Hansen did.”
Cashman didn’t claim that Henry was going to be the deciding factor in any playoff races though.
Bill Madden: “The Yankees have no farm system”?
Correct me if I am wrong but didn’t we win the AAA and AA titles?

I believe Wang has a CC and AJ voodoo doll he is ready to stick pins in.
Pete, I don’t want to speak for GB, but, I think he may be joking.
Pete,
GB and I are just joking around. We aren’t being serious as to Wang being a phony.
Unfortunately, the internet does not take to sarcasm well! lol
Was GB7 not being sarcastic
Wait, did we all forget that sarcasm exists re: GB7’s statement?
Come on Pete. GB is just making a point about how ridiculous the probing into ARod’s answers have been. Does seem ridiculous when you apply it to other quotes, now doesn’t it??
GreenBeret7
Were you being sarcastic?
Don’t attack the messenger, Peter!
Is it really GB?
my other post disappeared, so let me try this again.
Some people need to replace the batteries in their sarcasm detectors
Um Peter I think he was joking.

Didnt Scranton and Trenton win the AAA and AA titles this year?
gb- The lack of a
got me in trouble when I was sarcastic yesterday too.
“For those who needed the disclaimer: I am being sarcastic.”
Whew! Thank God you cleared that up. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have known.
I think right now Selena Roberts is walking in to GB7’s gym to tell him that he has failed a sarcasm test.
Oh, my bad.
Wang is just such a good kid I feel I have to defend him sometimes.
my MAN! the wanger! yeah baby cant wait to see the big guy!
‘Might be Brandon, but Pete didn’t mention him being there which led me to believe it was a minor leaguer. I just went back to the thread the pic is on. Someone there suggested Colin Curtis. Maybe it’s him???’
Good point they are in Tampa and Colin is a LHB. I’ll check.
Wow, Pete.
Wow – we really are on the edge here!
Sarcasm no longer exists in the steroid era.

SJ, obviously, what I said was dripping with sarcasm. I realze there are a lot that can’t understand that goes that far overboard. I always thought that most fans/people in the media completely disregards this guys talents and slights him, year after year. He has a lot of Mel Stottlemyre in him. He throws a few ticks harder, but, like Stottlemyre, he doesn’t rattle….regardless of the two Cleveland games. You know that the bullpen has to love the guy.
My guess is that was not GB.
Doreen,
Pre-spring training jitters!! lol
oops wrong again
I think Wanger should be 2nd behind CC. He has shown he is an ACE.
You go out too late your first night in Tampa, Pete?
Come on, you can tell us…..
“I think right now Selena Roberts is walking in to GB7’s gym to tell him that he has failed a sarcasm test.”
You mean she’s not going to cruise around his neighborhood in her car, checking to see if his car is in the garage?
Somebody needs to tell the Gumbatz that just called the FAN to shush up. He wants all these guys stats to be erased? Is this guy on drugs?
OK lets do that, erase ARods stats. Erase McGuire, Sosa, Clemens. Unlock the other 104 guys and erase all their stats. Wait, oh no!, of the 104 guys a few of them are on the Mets! Not that!
Wait, are you telling me everyone could be using HGH and because they werent caught we should only punish the people that were caught. In an era that we applauded these roid users?
Man, some people are completely ignorant.
Out of all the guys in the rotation, Wang is the one the Yankees can count on the most. CC obviously has the most talent, but coming to the Bronx is never easy on a pitcher. Wang has proven he can handle the pressure of pitching in NY and in Fenway.
The Yankees may have two of the most underrated players in baseball on their team-Matsui and Wang.
Getting back to baseball…..
How great is it to look at the rotation and see 4 guys who can legitimately throw 185-210 innings this year.
Its going to make the bullpen so much more effective because they won’t have to throw as many innings.
When Joba Chamberlain is your 5th starter, that’s some starting staff.
They just need a season of good health. If they get it, this is one powerful team.
I Hughes makes the team, wouldn’t that mean that something went wrong. Let’s not go there.
Bill Madden’s another one they waste trees on.
Yesterday’s column about how The Yanks sould cut ARod and write it off as a 270$ mil mistake? Come on Bill, you can’t do any better than that?
Our guest posters at their worst were more original than that.
Not to mention how many plays Tex is going to make. Or how many errors he’s going to save.
That freak Madden on now with Kay
Correct me if I am wrong but didn’t we win the AAA and AA titles?
the problem is a lot of guys were 36.
I still think Posada’s shoulder is the key to the season
“I think Wanger should be 2nd behind CC. He has shown he is an ACE.”
Yeah! Wang is older than CC, so culture/personality doesn’t dictate that he has to defer. He should be the MAN and the new kid in town should line up behind him.
Is the where I type my sarcasm disclaimer??
Grumpy Old Man, AKA: Bill Madden on Kay’s Show now.
“He has a lot of Mel Stottlemyre in him.”
First you call him a phony, now this? I think you’re really crossing the line here. I Wang and Mel are both married men. Wang is expecting his first kid! Got any proof?
Okay, anyone else, when they go to Church, do they include good health for the Yankees in their prayers????
Okay, anyone else, when they go to Church, do they include good health for the Yankees in their prayers????
If we are going to be sarcastic about a Yankee pitcher, it better be about Igawa!!!
I don’t know why that double-posted. Sorry.
2 years from now, when Jesus, Bettences, Brackman, Laird, ect., are in AAA, Madden will be saying “Man the Yankees farm is loaded, where did they come from?
“I still think Posada’s shoulder is the key to the season”
I agree. If Posada can’t catch on a regular basis, things can get dicey.

Laura, she’s in luck. I don’t have a garage. I do have a well trained German Shepherd, though. The smell of a reporter sends him into a rage.
If Posada can’t catch on a regular basis, I think the Yankees need to put Swisher or Damon in CF. Having Melky/Gardner and Molina/Cervelli in the lineup everyday would really take the bite out of this lineup.
“Laura, she’s in luck. I don’t have a garage. I do have a well trained German Shepherd, though. The smell of a reporter sends him into a rage.”
Well, if she shows up, sic him on her.
rodg12 it’s Colin Curtis or Eric Duncan because they are switching Eric to the OF.
BTW some Arod pics in Boca Chica D.R. training on Feb.3rd
http://i39.tinypic.com/2u5dqp2.jpg
Big year for matsui coming up. hitting behind arod/tex he’s gonna drive in 110 runs.
Honest to God, Madden sounds like a guy named Bernie who is a customer at my bagel shop.
Bernie comes in everyday complaining about something…
“How can they NOT have 7 Grain Bagels today”?
“The coffee is too bitter”!
“Can’t you people make the line go faster”?
I swear, he sounds like Bernie when he gets all worked up.
Cracks me up everytime.
Madden will be dead by the time Alex is up for election so I’m not worried.
Baseball, finally!
Can’t wait to see the Wangy One. The only question is, #2 or #3?
Wouldn’t you like him between the two flamethrowers as the #2?
So we can put Madden down for not voting for Alex to the HOF.
Posada won’t likely be catching a lot of games in the early cold weather and against teams that run, at least, not right off. If ever there was a time to teach pitchers like Wang, in particular, to keep runners close, it’s this year.
“it’s Colin Curtis or **Eric Duncan because they are switching Eric to the OF.** ”
wait what? you serious?
the problem is a lot of guys were 36.
Most of our pitching is young and good.
As far as Madden making the “integrity argument”, did he vote for Orlando Cepeda?
All Cepeda did was get arrested for selling pot. A convicted drug dealer is in the Hall of Fame.
That’s why its hard to get on the moral soapbox in sports.
Too many guys are flawed. Even the guys who vote for the HOF are flawed.
Although, you will never get them to admit it.
At last, some baseball talk.
Any interest in righty Marlon Byrd to platoon in CF with either Cabrera or Gardner who both hit lefties poorly? Or do we shy away from Ranger players, even though he was with the Phillies in 2002-2003? Texas could use pitching, since they now have an overabundance of outfielders.
Adam Kennedy anyone on a spring invite?
Wouldn’t be something if Manny is on the list and his name is divulged tomorrow. Is he signed for Abreu money or not at all?
I agree about Posada being the key to the season. If he can’t catch you have to take one of the kids out of center and replace them with a bat like Swisher. Hopefully, Gardner or Melky bring their bats this year and force the Yanks to keep them in the field.
“I still think Posada’s shoulder is the key to the season”
it’s huge. a clue to how he feels right now is how far his long toss is . he’s got a lot of time, but he’s not totally going to know anything until he airs it out. that’s probably going to be awhile.
Oh, please!! Madden needs to get off of his soap box. He is probably one of the ones that knew what was going on with the steroids and didn’t do jack squat to report it. Where is his integrity? Yeah, he doesn’t have any.
SA,
look more like it. I think its safe to say he would put Joba in the HOF as of now.
Maddon is an idiot. No matter what Alex would have said he would say he didn’t believe him. If he said he did it for 1/2 season with the Yankees, he would say, how do we believe him.
http://i44.tinypic.com/ohizdj.jpg
Alex & Albert
Madden is an idiot and the fact that these are the guys who elect HOFers act like the high and mighty.

Oh now, the farm system argument again!
The integrity of the game
The integrity of the game
The integrity of the game
Yes Saint Madden. Thank you
Oh now onto the “sucky yankees farm system”
Pete, any insights as to Wang’s presence (or lack thereof) in the clubhouse? I know he’s a pretty quiet and respectful guy and minds his elders, but you read quotes from players that don’t know a single thing about him and you wonder what it’s like to be around him everyday on the team.
I remember one hilarious post you had about 6 months ago when you mentioned Wang playing Golden Tee in Cleveland with Ian Kennedy and Phil Hughes. Any other stories like that involving him?
Brandon: Albert and Alex would be more an awesome — most feared– 3 & 4 hitters. Can’t wait for the WBC.
So we can’t count international players? What was he mumbling?
GB7
“Posada won’t likely be catching a lot of games in the early cold weather and against teams that run, at least, not right off. If ever there was a time to teach pitchers like Wang, in particular, to keep runners close, it’s this year.”
Interestingly Pettitte gave up 20 stolen bases last year. Not sure how many were from 1st,or who was catching, and he’s supposed to be one of the best at holding runners on.
-most feared- **
And that’s exactly why the coverage has been so ridiculous. Usually, after football ends and ST begins, the writers have zero to report on. This is like a dream come true from them.
It’s wall to wall Madden today! YIKES!

Yup Yup Ed.
Sarcasm no longer exists in this dojo.
And I have a confession to make. I take Chinese herbs.
Madden is an idiot and the fact that these are the guys who elect HOFers act like the high and mighty…makes me sick.
And now he goes on about the farm system…but he can’t remeber a 3rd basement by the name of Mike Lowell…and for pitchers they developed the greatest of all time Mariano Rivera!!!!
Alex looks smaller in those photos.
“the problem is a lot of guys were 36.
“Most of our pitching is young and good.”
i was just kidding because of guys like igawa and a lot of old position minor leaguers. some of that is necessary because a veteran back up catcher or utility infielder has to be kept sharp at triple a in case he’s needed.
G Love,
Thank you for being honest.
Selena Roberts now wants to talk to you to see if you sold any herbs to Arod.
SJ, that sounds familiar. Where’s your bagel shop?
Gaylord Perry is just one of a number of pitchers in the Hall of Fame who tampered with baseballs, which is CHEATING.
Steve B
“I’m no Gardner fan, but didn’t he do a reasonably good job vs. LHP in AAA last year?”
With the Yankees he had 3 hits in 24 ab’s against lefties, with a .125 batting average, I’m sure his AAA numbers were good since his OBP was .414. Maybe if he learns how to bunt, that average will improve.

I thought so. But just in case here is how we stacked up against the rest.

I have a question for you and the board in general. If the stars and moon align and the team is healthy for most of the year (injuries do happen), can you rate this team to be stronger than the 2000 team? 1996? 1998?

Careful, Randy. I got a nastygram from somebody who shall remain naneless for saying the same thing on Saturday.
Over Under A-Rod HR’s in 2009: 40
I’ll take the over.
Madden said something interesting about this will never die and I’m paraphrasing, because the media will be all over this like dogs.
Why can’t the media be all over the government and how we are in the situation we are in today and don’t give the same war BS, I understand that is a problem…but the US has been many wars and we never went into the second coming of the Great Depression.
I want the media to find out who was involved with changing the banking industry…
Why people who couldn’t afford mortgages…were able to get no-income verification loans…
Why ACORN was never fully discussed in regards to voter fraud…
Why we found out that Daschle cheated on his taxes only when he had to bow out of a Presidential appointment…
There are so many other things that the media could do instead of investigating steroids in baseball.
The question really is if there were no sports to cover would half of these reporters even be in journalism???
“Over Under A-Rod HR’s in 2009: 40. I’ll take the over.”
I’ll take the over as well although I think we’ll have a better feel once we see how he handles this firestorm. But my early prediction is 52 HRs 145 RBIs.
“Madden will be dead by the time Alex is up for election so I’m not worried”

SJ44,
Different bagel shop. I didn’t realize you were in Florida. I used to go to Pete Rose’s bar and stay at The Bridge Hotel when I used to visit Boca. Are they both still there?
Sarcasm’s sometimes hard to pick up in a quick blog comment. I didn’t catch it at first either, with the Wang is phony comment, but then I saw GB’s handle and thought either he had to be kidding or he had an imposter.
I’m glad to hear Wang’s feeling it. Another 19 win season from him or anything close to it would be great for the team. I’m sure he’s pumped about having a few other pitchers on the team who can be on par with him or better, because that just makes the whole team that much better. We needed that in a big way last year when Wang went down, and the only guy who could step up was Moose. And we all know the result of that.
There will still be those who knock him, but he’s pretty damn good and pretty damn valuable, even if he isn’t the second coming of Pedro from 10 years ago. We flat out need the guy.
Yes, they boil the bagels.
The Bridge is still in business but, Pete Rose’s closed several years ago.
Last time I saw Pete was 3 weeks ago in Vegas. He was signing at the Field of Dreams in the Forum Shoppes at Caesars Palace.
‘Yeah but Pete will be voting.’
Don’t worry about Pete he’s usually asleep, experiences technical difficulties w/ his computer or on vacation at times like these

“I have a question for you and the board in general. If the stars and moon align and the team is healthy for most of the year (injuries do happen), can you rate this team to be stronger than the 2000 team? 1996? 1998?”
Stronger than 1996 team- that was a team of fate and late comebacks, IMO.
Stronger than 2000 team in all positions except CF and RF, with Bernie and Paul. 2009 better pitching staff also.
1998 team was a very good team with Jeter and Brosius O’Neill, and Tino having excellent years along with Strawberry. Pitching, both starters and relievers put up good numbers. 1998 vs 2009 would be a good match[if no cloud hanging over A-Rod].
However my favorite team, at least powerwise were the 1961 Yankees with Mantle, Maris, Howard, Blanchard,Skowron, Yogi, all of whom had > 20 homers. The pitching staff wasn’t too shabby either.
Ansky, it has to make Wang’s job so much easier, that for the last three years, he’s started out being the main pitcher in the rotation. He doesn’t have that pressure to be THE GUY. He has at least two other THE GUYs.

Why couldn’t the media be all over it when it was happening? What was Madden doing to uncover the truth in the `80’s and `90’s?
Yeah, someone should ask all of the beat reporters why they were not aking these questions back then…when they are the ones who see the most.
boiling or steaming bagels? you sure you don’t mean dumplings? i thought bagels were baked? wth?
Go to next post-Pete live.
Kay thinks that Alex’s “attack” on Roberts hurt him? What I don’t hear fans complaining about that, only talking heads, and other reporters.
He let people know about the book, Kay seemed surprised.

I’d be leery about saying that you think like me. That wouldn’t go over real well with a certain person.
Of course, my ex-wife seems to believe there’s no way that there exists another mind like mine. I hope that gives her nightmares.
GreenBeret7, do you know the winning lotto numbers? Being able to discern some one’s veracity from a quote you read, not heard, but read, must require clairvoyance and other super natural powers.
to all people curious about “Chinese herb” and “Wang’s personality”: Wang didn’t take any herb during his curing or rehabilitation either in U.S. or when he was in Taiwan, as no one knows what might be contained in the herb and how long it can last, and what the League might do to him if there is anything prohibited found in his body – in Taiwan we don’t have a system good enough to detect what’s inside the herbs – we only know what herb cures what illness. As for Wang’s personality. What Taiwanese are educated when someone better is lining before you, is to try more harder in order to get better performance than him, or just keep your mouth shut if you don’t even have the attempt to try. Wang might be 27 or 28, but mentally he’s just a pure kid. He’s athlete not actor.
Wang is really a greatest player in Yankees. He never shows off like others and just practices. This is the Esatern culture rather than the Western one.
