Cashman deals with it
Brian Cashman is here and said the club is taking it day by day with Alex.
Cashman was asked whether he was confident that A-Rod didn’t use steroids while a Yankee.
He said he could not be given all the revelations in the game. “I’ve been educated,” he said.
Cashman said he will not ask any Yankees whether they are on the list from 2003 as he believes it should remain anonymous.
More on this later, along with audio.

Selig mentioned suspension? Uh, the whole agreement here was there was no punishment. Thats the only reason the players agreed to this. Selig is such a goof.
i have an addition to the war movies list. i just watched ‘twelve o’clock high’ with gregory peck and it was awesome!
its about the army air corps in the beginning of the war but its really about the stress of battle and the stress of command, pretty advanced for 1949.
dean jagger won best suppoerting actor, peck was nominated for best actor and it was nominated for best picture.
its a very good watch.
tex, he can definitely suspend arod for using a banned substance, not because of the test, but b/c of his admission.
No he can’t. If he tries to, the Union will shut down the sport.
The agreement between the players and owners was simple. You (the players) agree to the testing, we won’t suspend anybody.
He can’t go back and now decide to ban a player because of his admission.
There wasn’t even a disciplinary program in place at the time in MLB for testing positive.
He had no grounds to do anything to Arod.
The CBA supercedes his ability to do so.
He can try it. If he does, he will have no sport to rule over this year because the players will walk.
“tex, he can definitely suspend arod for using a banned substance, not because of the test, but b/c of his admission.”
Yet he did nothing when Jason Giambi, Andy Pettitte, Eric Gagne, Brian Roberts and so on openly discussed their connections with banned substances. There are other active guys besides those but they are the first I can think of. There is no grounds for suspending players retroactively for things they did 6 years ago, and for him to lead people to believe that it’s possible is a hugely inappropriate move for the commissioner of baseball to be making. George Mitchell specifically TOLD Bud during all that hubub last year that suspending guys for past actions would basically accomplish nothing, but I’m sure Bud forgot about that.
The dynamic between Cashmoney and A-Rod this season is going to be strange…..
It’s a sad testament that Cashman can’t vouch for ARod being clean as a Yankee. It makes me want to give up on caring about PEDs altogether. Why give a crap if there’s no way to know whether anyone is clean or using?
wood is good,
The “dynamic between Cashmoney and A-Rod” isn’t too important, as Cashman and ARod don’t have to interact, and ARod isn’t going anywhere.
Since we are on the subject, interesting read in the Wall Street Journal today by Allen Barra; http://online.wsj.com/article/.....74819.html
And to think a week ago, we all thought Joe Torre’s book was really going to be a big controversy in camp.
I see from the way he posed for the picture that Cashman must be a big fan of the blog.

Tex, Bud’s a guy who made a fortune selling used cars, seriously. Why should anyone be surprised by this.
