I am proud of that fact. In most cases in today’s world union’s hurt more than they help.

Which would be a good thing if the players needed protection. They don’t.

The union, by definition, is there to protect the players not the game. No different than any other union.

That reminds me of when people say Boras is killing baseball. What’s good for baseball is not Boras job, getting players the best deal he can is.

Exactly. To be quite honest, Selig and the owners SHOULD bust the players union. It serves no useful purpose as far as I’m concerned.

One can certainly argue the merits of taxpayer $ funding the Marlins stadium and the idiot team ownership.

But just to clarify, no way is the Orange Bowl site in the worst part of Miami. The surrounding area is a perfectly decent (lower?)middle class neighborhood.

The old Miami Stadium where the Orioles had a minor league team & used to have spring training – that’s a rough area.

Life moves on. Mussina retired. His old locker at Steinbrenner Field will not be a shrine. Out of repect, hold out issuance of No. 35 for one year and one year only.
The majority of the media will ask their silly, pointless questions to Sabathia most of which were answered at his introductory press conference. At some point in spring training he can find peace and go about his work.
