    “Big hands I know you’re the one…”

Haha. I hope it’s not a “blister in the sun”.

If AJ weren’t a pro ballplayer and I saw him on the street, I’d head in another direction. He’s one scary looking guy.

  2. Betsy

Aww, M – I love AJ, lol. He always looks like the cat that’s swallowed the canary – very mischievous, with a glint in his eye. I am so psyched about this guy – he and CC seem to be fast friends already, which is nice to see. Joba already is friends with CC – I have a sneaking suspicion that this rotation is going to engage in some serious competition with each other. Maybe CC, Joba or AJ can give Wang and Andy tattoos while they sleep so that they can fit in – talk about an intimidating rotation, lol.

  3. Phil Parcells

He’s too skinny to be dangerous.

    lol That would be fun
I wonder tattoo Wang should get?

  5. Angel - A tale told by idiots, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing

Thanks for the pictures (and many blog entries), Pete. Iphone, AP.. whatever the source, it’s really nice to see that the baseball season is getting closer and closer.

  6. S.A.-The 2009 MLB season is almost here

    I wonder=I wonder what

  7. Nick in SF

You’re off your game today, m. After all this time, you still don’t know Pete’s tastes?

Clue: this makes it two days in a row.

  8. you gotta have faith (bronx zoo 2009)

    m,

but according to mike francessa, “aj is very handsome and should be a big hit with the ladies”. haha

  9. DT

    lol. Nice title.

As long as the Yankees aren’t saying in late August –
“Hey I know it’s late we can make it if we run”.

  10. Bill Porter

Dude sports more ink than a Ray Bradbury character.

Hahaha I remember hearing Francesa say that.

  12. you gotta have faith (bronx zoo 2009)

lol he repeated it TWICE. it was hilarious. hes not much my type, but apparently hes mikes. lol

  13. S.A.-The 2009 MLB season is almost here

Very good article by Kepner. I understand why Burnett has his skeptics, but the thing to do is to quiet them. If indeed AJ has learned a thing or two from Halladay and his mind has caught up to his physical gifts, then the Yankees will really have something. It does speak for his stuff that several Yankees went to bat for him so to speak…….

  15. Betsy

No, No…..if AJ is Mike’s new love, then I’m going to start hating on AJ soon enough. Anyway, Mike loves players on other teams……it’s Valentine’s Day. Maybe he should send a card to Arroyo and McClouth.

  16. Joe DeRosa Jr

    BRUCE!!!!

When are CC and Joba going to shave there beards? They look both look unkempt.

Huh? AJ looks like Tim McVeigh.

  20. Phil Parcells

    Wang’s tattoo = a poker card — an ace

  21. m-Poor Yankees, not poor Alex!

    Nick,

I’m off my game everyday. Otherwise, I don’t know what you’re talking about. Please explain to me. I’m such a simpleton. :)

They went to bat for him so they wouldn’t have to bat against him. That could be worth an additional 5 wins a year, not including having his wins against Boston and Tampa….two more of his pigeons.

I don’t care if he looks like Boris Karloff, as long as he wins. (Oh, OK, Randy…and eats innings, too. Damned)

  24. DT

Thanks for the Kepner link Betsy –

I am shocked that Cashman came out with this quote – doesn’t sound like something he would say.

“We are a bad defensive team, so a guy that prevents the ball from being put into play is a good thing for us.”

  25. Betsy

GB, With the Yankees’ luck, AJ will suck against those teams this year…Eh, I’m not going to be negative; I honestly think AJ going to be great this year..

  26. Betsy

You’re welcome, DT – isn’t that an interesting quote from Brian?

isn’t that an interesting quote from Brian?

I could see Cash inferring that the defense wasn’t a strong suit – but then Kepner wouldn’t have used quote marks to relay the message.

Maybe Cashman took some truth serum with his Wheaties this morning- I dunno.

  28. CCBiggs

“I wonder tattoo Wang should get”

Wang already has a tattoo. It’s a Chinese character that stands for: “Me Chinese, me play joke, me do pee-pee in Red Sox coke.”

pete, i know its late, but we can make it if we run
