When you get down to it YES provides the only responsible reporting on the Yankees. All other outlets are biased. I get most of my hard baseball news (albeit a bit late) from Yankeeographies.

Jennifer -I, too, have avoided sports radio, newspaper articles and ESPN...I'm even loath to turn it on for NBA updates because the "A-ROD" news ticker across the bottom of the screen is so annoying. If all Yankee fans do this, maybe ESPN et al will get the message....we do probably comprise a huge chunk of rating$ after all!

BBB,

Because writers have editors they have to answer to. If the editors want steroid stories, that's what they have to give them.

Its not just up to the beat guys to decide what to write. They have to take their marching orders from their bosses.

Hence, we get overrun by these stories when something happens.

I personally resent the reporting of ESPN, and especially SI, on this issue. Selena Roberts reported the truth with reckless disregard for our desire to believe the lie. For that we hate her guts.

I wouldn't blame Cashman for being mad right now either, or even for wishing he hadn't signed that extension (though I hope he doesnt cause he's been with the Yankees forever, I consider him part of the fam, so that would sting a bit.)

From Cash's POV, it's like, cant he just do his job w/o distraction?! Through his whole tenure, if it isnt one thing making his job difficult, it's another. First he has to work around idiots who do things like draft John Ford Griffin or say, 'Guerrero? Nah...Sheffield. Beltran? Nah, Johnson.'

Then as soon as he gets control of those kinds of moves, he has to deal with divas (yeah I said it) like Sheffield, Clemens and Torre. Then ARod's opt out. Then when he finally gets all these idiotic, unwieldy contracts off his books, he has his best player taking steroids to contend with. After ARod and Cashman sat together and hammered out the HR incentive clauses, this is a MAJOR slap in the face to Cash and I dont blame him one bit for being mad.

Then on top of that, he had to take a ton of undeserved flak in the Torre book nonsense because of Torre's divorce from the Yankees, which actually was mainly made ugly by Hank and Levine!

the poor guy....but he continues to make great moves and keep a calm, ninja-like demeanor even if he's enraged on the inside. Damn it feels good to be a gangsta.....

Day before John Henry's meeting with Mark Teixeira in Dallas, we never heard the world "salary cap" from his lips.

Funny how that works, isn't it?

oh, i thought you meant dragged over the coals about the arod situation. Its just to me - dragged over the coals means taking some heat for something. And cash has not taken much if any heat for either of those. Torre took far more criticism for writing those stories than cash did for being in them as far as I know. And cash is not really getting a single ounce of blame for any of this stuff about arod as far as I can tell - not from the media or the fans. The only things I heard about cash is that he didnt want to sign him in the first place which is not exactly criticism - i think people are saying that as a positive. I dont really see cash taking any heat for anything . Sorry about the length - once i start in on something I just cant seem to stop typing.

"Gammons mentioned a couple days back that Penny has regained his velocity. Is Gammons just fluffing the Sox players as usual or is this a fact? If its true, do you guys think he can be a force in the a.l.?"

Yes, Penny is throwing 104mph on flat ground and as soon as Ryan Kalish gets a phsyical, he and penny are going to the twins in exchange for Santana who is willing to accept a below market deal because he wants to pitch in Boston. Its all confirmed.
