Here are the position players stretching. A-Rod was the last player to take the field and was cheered.

Thanks Pete, great pic! Trying to play Guess That Yankee again without going back to see who was assigned to which number, but all I can make out is Jeter and Posada on one end and Damon and Shelley (?) on the other. Is that Montero wearing no. 84?

also, how does Damon look? Is he in shape? He is one of the ones I worry about a bit! and speaking of, I have to say I thought Swish looked a bit chunky in the pic you posted of him the other day…

    mike schmidt from:
    http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/phillies_zone/

“I’d welcome him if he got elected to the Hall of Fame,” Schmidt said of A-Rod. “I always seem to walk down the middle of the fence. I understand the old, hard-line guys that use the words, `he cheated, he cheated.’ And the other guys that go, `It was a culture thing back then.’ If you played then, you would have been tempted, too. People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. I don’t want to get that wrong. We’ve all got some things in our closet.”

Yeah Mike Schmidt! Excellent 3rd basemen who’ve gotten inexplicably booed by their home fans, unite!!!

Great picture Pete, Thanks. What are the chances of Jeter getting into less double plays this year? How does Cano look? (added by Mobile using Mippin)

Arrod was the last to take the field and was cheered? I’m assuming by the fans?

If so, YAAAAAAY! I’m glad, god knows he’s in such a fragile state he needs the fans right now… especially since they treat him so well at the stadium of course…..

I think Al is going to have a tough time working through this. I can’t see how he can focus. He must be terribly worried about the girls with Selena Roberts still on the loose. God that must be stressful.

    Pete –
Did you start spraying beers and screaming obscenities at those fans who were cheering Arod?

  15. Brian from PA February 18th, 2009 at 3:08 pm

    Wait, wait.

A-Rod wins MVPs and drives in tons of runs, and gets booed by Yankees fans.

But he gets outed as a PED user…and Yankees fans cheer.

    How bout that.

Mike Schmidt sure seems like a stand-up, down to earth guy… i was too young to really follow him as a player, but everything else i hear or read from him makes me want to put him on the list of “non-yankee players that i like”.
