Buddy – (from previous thread) –

The deal with playoff tix is as gayle indicated – no guaranteed seats/tix, but an offer of getting them before they’re put up for sale to general public.

My inclination is to take the offered weekday plan, be flexible and make do this year for the games, in the hope of getting back to weekend package for 2010.

    UGH!!
This bugs me, he never signs when I’m there, and I have gone for 3 straight years, and I’m not this year because of the WBC. It seems like they are all signing this year: arod, jeter, joba, teixiera…gosh i always got screwed LOL!!!

They all look good though, looks like a good season to come.

    Great Pictures Peter!!!

    what a mob.

i wonder what it feels like to have hundreds of people dying to have your signature on a random object…

  5. Ham Fighters

i never got the autograph thing. it seems like such an imposition on the player just so you can say you met the guy. i met willie mays, tom seaver, phil niekro, whitey ford doing different things over the years and i shook whitey’s and willie’s hands. i wouldnt want to ask them to waste thier time signing a piece of paper for me.

as for people getting autographs to sell them, they shouldnt have to sign those unless they are getting a cut of the sale.

  6. John VanderCivic

autograph wooooooo whatever, get a life. i don’t even get going to spring training unless you live around there, it’s a waste of time, what are you possibly going to see?

  7. base clearing double

i go down to wpb, play golf in the monring, catch a game (cards, marlins or mets are close) in the afternoon and head to the beach by sunset.

waiting in line for autographs is not on the itinerary.

Anyone going to be at the first home game this Thursday at 115PM???

Nice article by Olney about Zack Greinke. The kid has terrific stuff and is only 25. He’s overcome a lot and could pitch on anybody’s team.

    Some OT news

“If there’s a hole or something in your team and you feel like you can support that, it’s always nice to have that option.”

Mikki Moore was released by the Kings this week, while *Robert Horry hasn’t played in the NBA this season.

“Robert’s been contacted by teams, but I’m not saying who I heard it was from,” Jackson said.*

My god will Robert Horry just hang them up, if I’m the Western Conf. I trip him and pray he doesn’t get up (j/k) but come on man if there is a clutch shooter in the NBA it’s Robert Horry that guy has more finishing tape than any then a race track. :(

Now, if only his little brother Luke turns out as well, or very close, the Yanks will have another horse in the stable.

  12. Brandon (CC/AJ/Marky Mark..4 DAYS& PEDS !) Now batting #6 Alex Rodriguez

Luke was hitting 98 mph last yr. on a few radar guns, the Daily News editor went to see him and had him clocked at 95 – 96 mph for S.I. Yankees.

  13. E-Man

“selling autographs” is a pretty poor excuse for a player not to sign. Those autographs are worth practically nothing with out a certificate of authenticity from a respectable company. Getting those autographs certified isn’t a cheap process either. So in the end, give me a break with that excuse.

I think Players are signing more this year because some idiot did something stupid a few years ago that hurts the integrity of the game.

  14. Brandon (CC/AJ/Marky Mark..4 DAYS& PEDS !) Now batting #6 Alex Rodriguez

GB they Yankees released Angel Reyes …what happened to him I know about the PEDS but was he that bad or is it a save face move ? The kid was a hard throwing lhp in the early 20’s I haven’t paid attention to him so anything you can tell me would be of help here.

  15. Zolio

Knicks should sign Horry… he will hot some clutch shots down the stretch to get them into the playoffs. He’ll also hit some daggers against the Celtics/Cavs in rd. 1

  16. Nick

So do the players sign autographs for all of those people who are standing there? Or does he sign 10 or so and thats it?

He’s not signing w/ this type of team, he’d be smarter to sign w/ Boston or Cleveland or the Lakers or even the Hornets.

    Bronx Jeers,

Did you get that letter via email or standard mail. I had the Friday plan last year as well sitting in left field. I wrote an email to the relocation@yankees.com email address but haven’t received a reply. Starting to get antsy. How much did your package end up being?
    —————————————————-

It was regular mail. The tickets are 45$ each. Except now the Friday plan includes 2 weekday games so it’s 15 games X 45$ = 675$ plus fees.

I’m spending 3 times what I started out at!

Brandon – What do you want to do with Lee/Nate? Sign them to pair with the 2010 FA or ship them off with Curry or Jeffries for a chance to sign 2 max 2010 FAs?

  21. FLM

I’m debating whether to accept my seat location or enter the pool process. I got main section 230, Row 23, seats 9-10 on the 12 game weeknight plan. It appears very close to that picture of the giant white beam that’s been floating around recently. Talked to Yankee Rep who said my view is not obstructed…cant say I trust what he said at all..$1700 is alot of $$ to stare at a beam every game…anyone have any thoughts?

The latter. They are nice players but not 10
+ million and really if I had to keep one it’d be Nate but even he can go.

Other than being left handed, he was really bad this past two years. In the 3 games I saw, he was totally unimpressive. I don’t know if it was inactivity or not, but, he looked like he was pitching hurt.

  24. Abuchawo

thats wat theyll say in 2 years lol

  25. Bronx Jeers

When I was a kid I used to wait around by the press gate after the games to get autographs. Once I even chased Mattingly’s car up 157th st. I caught him at a stoplight and he signed. Nice guy. I remember he had a Honda Prelude.

Now, I’d feel embarrassed asking for an autograph.

Sad, I thought he had a chance but he must have regressed and then some after he hooked up w/ the Annies.

Don Vito, Joe Torre is thinking of retiring in 2010, now I could be lieing or telling the truth

FLM based on the section layout that I got with my seats seats 9 and 10 are right in the middle of the row and that row is the last row not sure they would put a beam right in the middle of an aisle usually they are at the end or towards the end. 230 is a good section on the main level if you go into the pool not sure what you will get location wise. Also I think they need to tell you if the seat is obstructed bEZFORE they sell the tickets so I would get it in writing if you can

    Brandon-

thought of you this AM .

OSi was working out in my gym this morning.

I get the feeling that they are also doubting his age, listed at 22 this year. It doesn’t really help that being so skinny, he doesn’t appear to have much stamina. Also, he wasn’t worth a 40 man roster spot. They signed him in 2004.

  32. Brandon (CC/AJ/Marky Mark..4 DAYS& PEDS !) Now batting #6 Alex Rodriguez

Was he on the 5 hour energy pill or something else

  33. tampayank

was out there today, AROD, Tex, and Swish signed a lot of autographs, Tino was swinging a way during a base running drill

  34. gayle

ha ha he was ordering a shake as I was leaving so unless he put it in that not really sure

  35. Brandon (CC/AJ/Marky Mark..4 DAYS& PEDS !) Now batting #6 Alex Rodriguez

Well GB if that’s the case the end of Angel Reyes in the majors unless the Mets pick him up, he seems like thier type of player.

Brandon, that was just my impressions of him, and, I’m only an amateur know-it-all, and I only saw three of his games. In two years in Charleston, he’s been totally unimpressive. Maybe with another team, he becomes something of value, but other than being left handed, I just don’t see it. It’s good to see some very good lefty arms in the system, finally, though. Add one or two a year from the draft, along with some hard to sign outfielders will help.

  38. FLM

    THanks Gayle,
I’m probably just going to roll with it and see what happens, I’ve been trying to find pictures of that section, but everything gets too blurry when I zoom in to try and count the seats in regards to the beam. Also, caught a bad break with the plan I got. My boss and I have had 4 seats in a row on the old E plan in Loge 486 for the last 5 years ( 2 separate accounts) They couldnt even give us the same 12 game plan. He’s got 12 game #2 and I’ve got #1. We used to trade off games so he could bring his kids to a few games…very frustrating

  39. Abuchawo

You watch when Jeter or some other big player….Pujols is discovered to have taken roids. What has happened to this game?

  40. TheChuckKnoblog

Joba signed autographs all last year as well; I got one at a game. He is a great guy.
