Is there a lot of people who want to join. If the demand is high we can always start a second league. Is anyone else interested?

We've got 4 spots left, so if you still want to play in a competitive league but missed this chance let me know at kevinseefried@ymail.com, and I'll make a spot for you in the league.

If you ignore juicing Bonds is the best player in that group, easily. Arod may surpass him but he hasn't yet. He did/does play a more demanding position so he should get a bump for that. Bonds was no scrub in the field when younger though.

I get sick of all the talk about what Griffey could have done if only he didn't get hurt. He is the career active HR leader. He is a lock first ballot HOFer. If Bonds had deteriorated as would have been expected Griffey would be the best player of the 90's. If he has a decent year in Seattle as a DH and sticks it out for one or two more, he could break 3,000 hits and pass Mays on the career HR list. He has 9 seasons of 30+ HR's and 11 with 90+ RBI. He was a ++ defender in CF.

He might have been the all time HR king if hadn't gotten hurt, but what he has accomplished puts him in the same league as other great center fielders like Mays, Mantle and DiMaggio. He has been that good and should be thought of that way, not as the guy that missed out on greatness because of injury.

"runs is a flawed stat but its essence is true, runs are what wins games. rickey scored more runs than anybody even cobb"

agreed. Actually, in Henderson's case "Runs" are not a flawed stat. He got on base more then any other player in history of baseball. And would then proceed to get himself into scoring position (usually automatic), by taking 2nd base. Thus it is not by chance, he holds the record for most runs in history of the game.
