this was prob posted earlier but just in case:

" ESPN's Buster Olney believes Manny Ramirez remains unsigned because of his behavior in Boston:

The primary reason for [the lack of interest in Manny], unquestionably, is the sport-wide perception that he did not honor his contract in Boston, and went to extraordinary depths to get himself out of that contract. These are not the on-background musings of a couple of rogue scouts, or the chortlings of conspiracy-theorist sports writers. This is the cemented belief of many executives with many teams, reinforced by Ramirez's sudden transformation into a high-energy player as soon as he moved from the Red Sox to the Dodgers.

In my opinion, the primary interest for the limited Manny interest is his asking price. At a time when solid corner outfielders are signing for $10MM per year tops, Manny wants more than twice that salary and at least three years guaranteed. I think if Ramirez and Boras were willing to take a reasonable two-year, $30MM deal, there'd be five more teams in on him."

i would LOVE to see Manny go unsigned so he can reflect on how much he screwed up. Manny being Manny was cute for lil' Sawx fans but it don't fly anywhere else.

Reggie was a career .263 hitter with RISP with an .856 OPS

ARod is a career .303 hitter with RISP with an .957 OPS

Let's hope Alex doesn't aspire to those numbers.

The only place where Reggie has phenomenal numbers is World Series play. In five W.S. he hit .357 with a .457 OBP and .755 SLG resulting in a mind-boggling 1.212 OPS

However in 11 League Championship Series Reggie was pretty awful, hitting just .227 with a .678 OPS.

Mr. October wasn't a great clutch hitter except in the World Series (5X), which admittedly is a damn good time to come through. Hwoever he might have played in more than 5 World Series if he hadn't stunk in several of his LCS appearances.

I don't care if it doesn't mean squat. This is a great start to the season. But what exactly *did* Reggie say?

That's not more ARod drama. That's the same old ARod tedious, boring drama being continually rehashed.

Seriously, there's baseball today, and from now on until November. Let's talk baseball. I could care less if I never hear the name of ARod ever again.

I'm Glad that ARod is getting a ride home from his cousin... it shows he doesn't care about what anyone thinks about him and he's just going to live his life. Good for him... hes no longer the phony who tries to do the right thing and please everybody.

Now he needs to go out to lunch with Angel Presinal

I'm failing to see why there is any outrage over Arod getting a ride home from his cousin.

What a non-story.
