I wish I could be Alex for five minutes.

I'd call a press conference, walk up to the podium, and tell people to get themselves a life.

If I were Alex I would want to wait to speak to MLB until after the Selena Roberts book comes out. This way any thing new in the book could be addressed all at once with the old stuff and his story could be kept 'straight'.

If injuries come again as they came last year, the Yankees will have to fire a few trainers. One year is bad luck two years is a problem. Melky Cabrera is fighting to get the CF job, the fight is not near over, but Melky will have to show something to even get the bench job. The Yankees will keep Melky unless he doesn't show anything. Gardner has speed and Melky doesn't have great batting power to shake that off. If Gardner shows what he can (he always takes some time to adjust to a higher level, good thing he played last year) the job has to go to him. Good Luck to them both. The Dominican Republic seems to have a decent team, with some thanks to a few Yankees. Have a great week. (added by Mobile using Mippin)

This is precisely why the Yankees need to sign Manny Ramirez.

1). Posada, who provides critical OPS, has an unpredictable should
2). Matsui, who has two fragile knees, can't even run yet and we don't know what we're to get from him, yet he's supposed to be the DH
3). If 1 & 2 don't make you a believer, and I don't know why they wouldn't -where else are we getting the pop from - what happens if Rodriguez actually does have to serve a suspension?

And all we've heard is how "the Yankees don't need Manny."
Guess again.
